Who Said "swedish man on cure"

Don't put words in people's mouth as defense of your nonsense

It only proves you can't debate and have lost
Swedish man on cure? You could have at least proofread your smug response, might have given it slightly more grativas.

There are a great deal of posters who's argument boils down to 'he doesn't care, he got his bag', or 'he's a bitch and he's quitting'.

Both of which are ignorant and reductive.

He was never special. He was good and had potential to be great but never realized it. I've been saying this for years. He's been a passenger the majority of his career, not a driver. Even when playing with scrubs those guys got the puck for him. To become great, he needed to make significant improvements to his pace, dynamism and increase his skill level with the puck since he was never going to dominate physically.

Instead he's obviously gotten worse this year. Now he has to take 2 big steps to achieve greatness instead of 1. The silver lining is that I don't think actual gap in play is as huge as some believe, it's the same kind of issues just magnified by the lack of production now that they don't have one of the best PP quarterbacks in the league in Miller to get him free points.

Just can't say I believe in his character. Wanted him traded as an RFA. But they're stuck with him now so you have to work with him, even if the goal is to ultimately trade him when he finds his game again.
He literally made Kuzmenko into a 39 goal scorer. You know, the guy whose salary has been treated like a cap dump since then.

A passenger. My God.

The number of games he was put out there with terrible wingers and our 3rd D pairing and tasked with not getting buried, only to have some fans suggest that the waiver fodder on his wings was carrying him is hard to fathom.

And free points on the PP? In his career year he got less than a quarter of his points on the PP and to my eye-test, was very often the '3rd assist' guy who didn't actually get a point since the puck usually went between Miller and Hughes and then ended up tipped or put in on a rebound.

None of this is to suggest that he isn't playing far far below his capabilities right now, he most certainly is. But we don't have to retcon history here.

That's a bit of an odd take. These things were his calling card, I'm not sure how you expect him to improve on them. I mean if you said he needed to work on being stronger on his feet, his faceoffs, and his play along the boards I'd agree with you. But his pace, his skill level and his dynamism were apparent as a rookie.

(Terrible music warning, I highly recommend putting it on mute)

Even just watching a tiny bit of that it’s clear he has lost his quickness. He doesn’t play that allusive anymore.

Elusiveness is missing right now, so is his audacity and inventiveness. I have always called him the hockey super computer because when he's 'on' he's constantly finding inventive solutions that one can't even see from above.

But he's so far into his head right now it's really sad to watch.

I believe he is autistic to a certain degree. You can see how he panics talking to the media. That alleged shot at the media was panic fire. Not sure how much this would affect his on ice performance - maybe it's messing with his confidence in a big way. He is definitely wired differently than most.

I have a feeling the play for a winning team comment backfired on him. For all we know Pettersson had his bags packed and was already headed out the door. Then the Canucks started winning and pressured Pettersson into a corner. Threatening a trade or signing a career changing contract that makes him the fifth highest per year player in the league. Yes Pettersson could be injured. He could be out of shape, or he may not even want to play here. It really could be anything at this point.
Should have just said I dont give a f*** about winning just give me my money and the fan base would have loved him.

Wow, I really miss that Pettersson. Freaking sit the young lad and let him get healthy.

DocBenton is the guy who said EP had "no discernable skills" and he had the "midas touch" because somehow everything he did ended up scoring despite doc not seeing any discernable reason for why the points were being scored. This was said a couple years ago when EP was in the process of scoring 102 points so keep that in mind if you're going to engage him on EP's skillset.

The amount of excuses by the petey cult members is unbelievable

1. He's hurt
2. It's Miller
3. It's Tocchet
4. Well he WAS hurt and didn't train well
5. 1/2 through the season, no longer hurt - rinse and repeat the same excuses

notice a pattern? ZERO accountability on Petey...ZERO

unbelievable
What a unhinged post.

Lot of the things you list he is at least in part accountable.
