For those who have seen Bridgeport games this season, is there any hope for our prospects?

Just by stats, it seems that Jeffries is the only viable prospect. Foudy and Karlsson have scored a bit but they’ve been disappointments based on their draft status and they haven’t exactly taken a leap this season.

Maggio and Dufour have to be the biggest disappointments. 4 goals in 45 games between the 2 of them. I know they were 5th round picks but their post-draft seasons clearly got my hopes up way too high.

If there was better progression at Bridgeport, Lou’s typical TDL moves or even standing pat might be defensible. Not now. No way.

I'm not sure what this says about BP and/or the big club, and I could be wrong with this recollection, but it seems like there have been guys who were called up and did better in the NHL than they did in the AHL. I've definitely noticed that with +/- stats.

I don't consider Foudy a prospect because he has NHL experience from another organization. As for other players in BPT, I still have hope that Maggio can play in the NHL as a bottom 6. I'm willing to write off the fact that he doesn't have Ruslan Ishkakov skating alongside of him. I also would keep an eye out for Marshall Warren on defense. He's just started his pro career.

There is not a lot of pro potential from this roster. Consider that things are tough for them because George, Cholowski, and Hutton are all up with the parent club. So much so that they had to bring back Seth Helgeson on a PTO last month.

Our best prospects are currently in the NCAA.

Thought the same with Thiesing and it's been quiet around him.

At most, these guys are MacLean types which are basically replacement soldiers who can kill time.

I believe it was last year that there was some modest preseason hype regarding Maggio. The last prospect I can recall that had serious buzz around his preseason performance was Barzal.

That’s a long time between drinks of water.

I'm only pointing out that there is a possibility we see some later development with him
And the college pipeline is showing more promise now.

Maggio plays really hard, he has really struggled to score which is surprising. He could be an energy fourth liner perhaps, he also kills penalties but he’s a fifth rounder who I think has mostly hit his potential. I like Warren a little, similar to George but has more bite to his game physically. Jeffries is pretty solid, he’s gonna come up soon IMO. He’s their best player and he and Terry are only players who consistently create anything offensively. The goaltending is terrible which a lot of nights has given them no shot in games. Mitchell is tough and skates well, he has played well this year so perhaps he could find opportunity at some point.

The Bridgeport dumpster fires are 1-10 in there last 11 and have been outscored 37-17 in their last 8, which is also 8 straight losses. They have 4 more games in December to try and get off the schnide.
This team is putrid and almost impossible to watch.

maybe we should just disband our minor league system. They suck and have sucked for years now. No one in the front office knows how to fix it.

Besides Lou giving us Trotz, what the hell has he really done???

4-1 win

Jeffries ENG, assist
Jefferies up to 20 points in 24 games, not too shabby. My only gripe is that I’m not sure where he fits into the lineup long-term. He seems too cerebral to replace Pageau or Palmieri on the wing (both of whom play with some nice jam).

Also Gatcomb is pacing for a career year at age 25, right shot forward with good size. Could be a bottom six depth option similar to MacLean.

Bridgeport lost 4-1 to Providence tonight. They have played 15 home games this season and only won once.

Yeah...
at what point does the ownership look at this and say, WTF??? and fire Lou's son (GM)....He obviously can't run the club, can't win, can't develop our prospects. Everyone on the Bridgeport team as far as prospects have regressed!!! This is BS... When does Management say, hey we need to get the Lamoriello family out of our f***ing organization????
