Just goes to show Bolduc is nothing more than Salo 2.0 (aka destined for a decent career in some European league).
I'd give Bolduc some more time. As a general proposition you have to do that with big defensemen - they can tend to be later bloomers. Also, between Covid and some injuries and then last year in the press box, he has missed some development and might have some room to grow if given lots of AHL ice time. We'll see though.

Here we were worried about exposing Bolduc to waivers , now indicating his career might be on another continent. He’s got a lot of work to do and is playing where he should be. Let’s hope he can continue to work on what I thought was a good camp and get better.

Bolduc has one assist through the first three games (0-3-0-0) but is second behind Dufour on the team in shots.

Jefferies leads the team with three points despite only playing 2/3 games so far.

he's in a perfect spot , soak up the AHL icetime for an entire season and see where we're at come sept 2025.

The 3-2 loss to Hershey saw the team give up a 2-1 3rd period lead.

Terry was the reason both goals were scored. Granted, Jefferies shot was a goodin'.

The Islanders philosophy for a long time (even dating back prior to the Lamoriello years) is to prepare players for the NHL and disregard winning. Worked with MacLean I guess... 🤷

Sad that MacLean is the only recent example - he's terrible and easily replaceable

Karlstrom 2G Foudy 3A Maggio 3A. This line seems to have chemistry.
I'm pretty sure i have seen Engvall center Dufour and Terry. Doesn't seem to be working so far.

Skarek with the shutout today. Good to see. He's only 24, but seems like he has been around for a while. He must have some endearing qualities that are not seen on the score sheet.

Good for him. For us too. I think we need a few youngins' to lurch forward a few steps, give a boost to the farm. Now would be a good time to make an addition or two.

I was at the game last night. The final score wasn’t a true indication of play. Skarek will never be an NHL goalie. 2 of the 6 goals he let in were bad. He also didn’t make a single big save. Every high danger chance was a goal against.

Engvall looked terrible. His one skill wasn’t on display. I didn’t see him carry the puck once into the offensive zone. He fumbled the puck all game.

Jeffries was very noticeable. He needs to put on some weight and his first step needs work but I saw NHL potential in him.

Besides Jeffries none of the forwards impressed me. I had to look for Maggio and Dufour as neither did anything. Also our supposed depth in guys like Karlstrom and Fasching were bad.

Despite the final score I thought Bolduc and Odelius were decent. Odelius makes the right play moving the puck. He doesn’t have much of an offensive game but with some time in the AHL could be an NHL player. Bolduc was very engaged and very noticeable on the ice. Let’s hope he spends a full year down and can further his development.

Bridgy lost the back end of the series in Charlotte 5-2 yesterday. They were outshot 40-12. I’d really like to know what’s going on with them. They cannot be this bad every year. Too many non-competitive efforts last season and it’s happening again this year.
