The addition of Terry should be fairly huge for the younger guys on the team.

Sure, he may play with whichever AHL "vets" end up down on the farm like Karlsson and Foudy. But he'll definitely take just enough of the offensive pressure off the guys like Maggio, Dufour, and Jefferies to allow them some ample breathing room.

And he won't need any adjustment.

Can step right in without any concerns on or off the ice.

A bit surprised he hasn't taken his act to Europe yet.

You can never underestimate the allure of living in Bridgeport and playing in front of 800 fans.

(Before anyone anyone gets too worked up over this post, I actually work in the surrounding area and it’s just a joke) Sort of.

I know it’s a joke but Fairfield/Milford are arguably some of the best areas in the entire AHL Atlantic and North Division. Train ride into NYC, access to many airports, etc.

Might have to adjust this later when the waiver claims hit but Bridgeport is looking kinda of stacked right now…

Engvall-Karlstrom-Terry
Jefferies-Foudy-Fasching
Gill-Maggio-Dufour
Liukas-Theising-Bardreau
Kopperud-Pinho-Gatcomb

Bolduc-Hutton
Odelius-Newpower
Mitchell-Fulp
George-Warren
Rajaniemi

Hogberg
Skarek
Tikkanan

LOTS of right shot forwards and not a whole lot of true centermen. Some of these guys are going to have to learn how to play on their off wing or down the middle (like they were trying Maggio with during the main camp).

It certainly looks like a far better roster with the additions of Karlstrom and Terry. If there are injuries or NYI's PK struggles (as it did in preseason), I'd expect to see Foudy pretty soon.

Terry is left-handed and a natural LW.
Also, do you think they bump Maggio to C long term?
Karlstrom - Foudy - Pinho are the top 3C on the team with Thiesing and Bardreau following.

If BP has a successful season that will be a real resume-booster for their GM, in case he's in line for an NHL job. :sarcasm:

Could have sworn Terry played RW as a left shot in his prior stint with the B-Isles, but that may have just been on the PP.

There are 5 players who are potential call ups - with Maggio and Jefferies benefitting from playing top 6 minutes all season.

Those 5 are
Engvall
Fasching
Foudy
Karlstrom
Dufour
So does the staff try to play these guys together? Or do they approach it a balanced top 9 - How does this look? No particular order but top line listed below is your shutdown unit.

Engvall - Pinho - Fasching
Jefferies - Foudy - Maggio
Terry - Karlstrom - Dufour

PP 1
Dufour
Maggio Karlstrom Terry
Bolduc

PP 2
Fasching
Jefferies Foudy Engvall
Odelius

Anybody here who had an AHL.tv subscription and is now watching on flohockey? How's the quality? I used to pay $65 a year, now it's $150?

Wow, Engvall gets waived and has to play AHL, and then has to wear that shit on top of it. What a humiliating run for the guy.
If he has any character at all, he'll use this as an opportunity to bear down and fight his way back to the NHL. Falling back on "humiliating" is a loser stance.

I was being facetious in my post, but I do agree that if he is smart he’d use his Bridgeport time to really shine/stand out.

3-2 and 3-0 losses at home to kick off the season.

Impressive!

I did notice that Bolduc is QBing one PP unit and Odelius the other.

Of Charlotte's goals, one came on a (poorly played) 5-on-3 and another was an empty-netter.

Ken Appleby pitched the shutout.

Again, this is the annual rite of autumn.

Just goes to show Bolduc is nothing more than Salo 2.0 (aka destined for a decent career in some European league).
