Probably the best post-dynasty era number, worn by LaFontaine, and then Palffy.
Well then, may Raty simply in fall in line with those "forwearers"...

Woah… why no Jon Sim!

Alternatively he could wear #12 which may be available next season.I want to see him and Kappo Kakko get into a fight and hear Butch call the blow by blow.
BTW. nice sign that Raty is wearing #16, which is available with the big club and is a number he could wear for his whole career (not a rookie number).
you can call him Susan for all I care. As long as he continues to play so well and shows he’s the real deal I’m happy.
Asselin certainly was playing with a sense of urgency last night. The entire team had that desperation going.I thought Asselin looked really good.
Same here. When I looked up the schedule, I was surprised. The next round against Charlotte has a weird setup. 5 game series, 2-3. Charlotte is the higher seed. First 2 games in Bridgeport, then the last 3 in Charlotte.
I know when teams go to Charlotte, to minimize travel expenses they play 2 games there, but I wasn't expecting this series to open in Bridgeport.
Ahhtoo Rahtoo?
I know you guys love to shit on Simmer, but the guy is a good dude. Met him a few times (from my mom's home town) and he was great to my kids when they were little playing at a charity thing he did. Also coached against him in a baseball tournament once. Nice guy.Woah… why no Jon Sim!
What can I say, he practiced good.I know you guys love to shit on Simmer, but the guy is a good dude. Met him a few times (from my mom's home town) and he was great to my kids when they were little playing at a charity thing he did. Also coached against him in a baseball tournament once. Nice guy.
There, said my peace, you guys can go back to crapping on him as a player...
Raty definitely played better last night than when we saw him two weeks ago. He doesn’t hesitate to shoot and defensively he knew where to be when high in the O-zone.Asselin certainly was playing with a sense of urgency last night. The entire team had that desperation going.
For the Islanders last night some observations:
I thought Raty looks more comfortable as a complete forward than when I saw him last in person in his 1st game for Bridgeport. When he gets room to take a shot he unleashes a laser. Heavy shot indeed.
Robin Salo had a fine defensive game. Was in the right places, very few gained position on him, good stick, good PKs. Just what we needed last night, as the Bruins played a heavy game.
Simon Holmstrom was all around good, but how on earth does he shoot wide on an all alone short handed breakaway? He'll fit right in on the Island lol.
Raty may have won the game but Corey Schneider won the series. Flawless in his 2 starts.
I think the issue with Sim goes back to that July 1st when the Isles had like 4 or 5 guys sign with other teams as UFAs and fans were (as usual) hoping for stars to replace them and then we signed Jon Sim. He was a victim of circumstances.I know you guys love to shit on Simmer, but the guy is a good dude. Bojangles arena has Baby Shark Live already booked on 5/10. Can’t mess with the shark. The next round against Charlotte has a weird setup. 5 game series, 2-3. Charlotte is the higher seed. First 2 games in Bridgeport, then the last 3 in Charlotte.

Holmstrom slammed his stick really hard on the bench after that missed breakaway opportunity, I think he’s just as mad as we were that he didn’t bury it. His 200 ft. game is really solid and he has poise carrying the puck, his backchecking/sticklifting was really really solid I thought.
Holmstrom and Raty will replace Parise and Bailey/Beauvillier over the course of the next two seasons me thinks.
Whether he scored or not MDC looks washed up. The guy doesn't skate well even at the AHL level.Last night was Dal Colles first career post season goal
When people tell me we should send a prospect up at the end of a lost season to gain some NHL experience instead of getting playoff experience in the AHL, I shake my head. Totally misguided. This is a good succession plan, and great to see Raty score that goal. It is one we have seen him score with before which is great. The experience this playoffs will be invaluable to him.
I was talkin with crasherino last night and we said how Dal Colle with all his NHL experience should be lighting it up in the AHL..... but alas....Whether he scored or not MDC looks washed up. The guy doesn't skate well even at the AHL level.
NHL playoffs is hard enough for seasoned vets, it is not an ideal training ground. I wanted Raty to come over and get a taste of AHL action, the experience can only help his development. This has been a pretty good developmental D+1 year for him. Skies the limit. Very nice in an otherwise disappointing year. When people tell me we should send a prospect up at the end of a lost season to gain some NHL experience instead of getting playoff experience in the AHL, I shake my head. I’ve never been an MDC fan but in 2018 he scored 1 point per game at Bridgeport.I was talkin with crasherino last night and we said how Dal Colle with all his NHL experience should be lighting it up in the AHL..... but alas....
