Ya, that was very underwhelming. Great save, but Elliot made it look flashier. Those saves happen every night almost.

Uh, I figured that was far enough to make the sarcasm easy to spot. Im a Blues fan. Elliott isnt a backup (who would he be backing up?), but its strange to see some people still think so. The All-Star backup. Just goes to show how underrated he is. Since 2011 he leads all G's in these road stats (GAA, SV%, SO's.)

He's an elite GT.

No he is not .

That was a great save by the Blues system. I love how the system worked through him to perform that save. Excellent save for a back-up. If Elliott averages 78 games a season for the next 8 years, he's got a good chance of being an elite back-up in this league.

This thread does not disappoint.

Nice save by Elliott. His strong work has masked a few games lately where the Blues were simply out-played (Tampa first game, 3rd period against Florida, recently).

Maybe winning in the post-season could change his undeserved reputation? I don't know. But he's been solid and a big part of the Blues' wins.

So when is he going to get a chance to be the starter?

In the post I quoted I thought the guy meant backup caliber. Didn't account for sarcasm. Guess the detector was off.

And yeah Elliott is decent. Nowhere close to elite though. He has had some great saves including this one. The one on Hossa was a bit of luck this was more a good form save. And hard to accomplish.
