Cap dump. Tactically it is brilliant. Now we can ice the lineup we want this year and we gave up nothing. And his cap hit is not on the books next year either. The Kings are idiots as they rebuild for taking this waste of space. I have a feeling we now owe them a favor.
This is sheer stupidity. “Cap dump” lol.

He’s basically undefeated and has fought some of the toughest guys in the league. How is he an underwhelming fighter lmao
I just remember this gem against McD. To be frank, I don’t really pay attention to fights, as I find them generally boring — so that’s on me. Fair enough. All in all, though, the guy is irrelevant.

Making cap space for Howden's extension this off-season.
I know you’re joking, but I think this move - and how they’ve handled Lemieux throughout - is illustrative of the FO prioritizing the top six - making sure they have a core nailed down - and being relatively indifferent to the rest of the roster. Which, to me, makes sense in this cap situation. They’ll shed the low-ceiling guys without a second thought.
Kind of the opposite of the Islanders.

Surprised but thrilled we got a fourth. Physically ordinary. Takes dumb penalties. Gets paid more than the league minimum.

Edit: looked up some of his fights; generally an excellent fighter. Mistake on my part — but firmly stand by the rest.
I vehemently disagree with you about Lemieux but I admire you not being afraid to state you’ve changed your mind upon being exposed to different information, many people just double down lol.

One less guy to counter Wilson tomorrow.
I feel like Wilson is more of a concern among fans than his actual opponents. He’s a solid player and obviously loves to injure his fellow professionals. But I don’t think opponents are game planning around that slob.

The top six is in flux long-term too though, no one knows what they're gonna do with Buchnevich, Strome and Zibanejad.

Howden was chosen over Lemieux, it’s as simple as that being the reason this is a terrible trade. Lemieux did more in that one shift where he blocked three shots than Howden has done since he’s been in the league. It’s things like these that put dents in my trust for Groton. It’s talent evaluation, like not taking the teacher’s pet away from him for his own good.
It’s quite possible Howden was offered around and got no bites.

For some reason they feel the need to have 3 goalies on the roster so Brendan gets the boot because he’s a generally useless player

Simple as that

Thanks — but I find it hard to dispute facts lol.

But fair enough; agree to disagree.

Incoming Ryan Reaves for Julie G trade call and subsequent board meltdown.
Ross Johnston was waiver and cleared, maybe the Rangers can trade that new 4th for him?

Again Disclaimer: I am not lamenting the loss of Lemieux, more so the Rangers odds of addressing the lack of toughness issue without screwing it up, I find questionable.

I pretty much stopped watching Rangers after like 5 games into the season, so I haven't seen him play lately, but before that he was a solid physical player with good speed, hitting, chipped in some points. They should have made him play on PK to better develop his overall game.

It's real hard to dig your heels into the ground and assess a player when you haven't seen them play their last 20 games, but somehow you manage.

Team is even less diverse than it was before today. Even with Lemmy having a bad year, to trade him for a 4th and not have anyone like him is just stupid. Lol at people thinking Rooney, Blackwell, PDG, etc provide the same.

FFS trade Howden already
