No ****, so why is everyone mad at a guy using his only sliver of leverage afforded to him?
He doesn’t really have any and I’m not mad. Look @ my post history.

I just want him in camp. I don’t think it does him ANY good to miss ANY time. I agree he’s at this point our 2nd best RD and I hope he can push for #1 but he won’t do it sitting out a season or going to another league and coming back with the same issue and maybe Fox or other takes his spot.

U play by the rules of the game and the CBA. Simple as that

Eh I've seen more people vocally defending DeAngelo than criticizing him. I think the large chunk of us in the middle just hope he signs for a number that's good for him and for us.
I feel like I've seen the opposite

I don’t even think he should be getting big money or term, I just don’t love the team strong arming him (and now void, but Lemieux) after budging on the big contracts they’ve given out already this summer

Took so long! What a deal lol. Could’ve gave a Mil? Why not. Anyway. Really excited for a full season of him on the team

If sitting out pisses them off, you’d think he’d be traded, no?

If you can trade him. Players who sit out long stretches and would be on their 4th? team before they even reach arbitration rights with less than a full season under their belts don't generally generate a lot of interests.

I don’t want him to miss any bit of camp either, but he’s also playing the rules of the game and CBA, and it just worked for the other guy who was also doing it

And I wouldn’t have a problem with it

I mean it’s the reality of the nhl and contracts....salary cap increases and it’s predetermined to an extent when you can cash in. He let his maturity affect that. He has next to no leverage and should commit to this season and cash tf in next year. I’m a lurker but appreciate your posts always

Well, let's see where it comes in, you know? I think $925K is fair for Lemieux. Maybe what they're offering Tony is also fair.

Regardless, to me, the fact that they spent lavishly on Panarin and Trouba is irrelevant. Obviously you need to take care of your own guys, but you also need to do what's best for the team first and foremost. I liked the deals for Panarin and Trouba, so even if that ate up a couple million they would have otherwise spent on DeAngelo, I'm good with it. The players might be frustrated, but they also have to understand the business of it, and know that if they perform, they'll get that big check, too.

Teams are always dying to get offensive RHDs, I’m sure they’d find a taker, they probably just wouldn’t get a great return. It’s really just a game of chicken at this point, and the Rangers front office are terrible at playing chicken

Great news. Didn't want Lemieux to miss any time. I think he has more in him than we showed last year. Could be a solid third liner who is just miserable to play against.

Well camp starts Fri... so he’s got his time frame.

I said it weeks ago... about both players. This is a process... I get what they’re doing... in fact I’m all for it. That being said, our Cap situation is what it became after July 1st. There’s not a lot more pie for them. They can’t miss any camp but hold out as long as possible and get an extra 50k or whatever.

But miss a day of camp and I’m no longer on your side.

We have ALL had to pay our dues.

Costs us almost nothing now, and he gets a chance to prove he's worth something more. It also gives us a chance to move on if he's not.

I like this move.

Why on earth would I want HFBoards to email me?

So that you can get an email in your spam folder showing your HF password (which you use on all sites) and then saying that they have hacked youre PC, have all you social media contacts and have you via webcam doing naughty things to self while visite pron sites (your have nice taste hehe...). They will send webcam fotage to all youre family and friends causing embarressment much unless you send them $723 in bitcoin. Don't bother calling police because Putin noes!!!

So I ask, why wouldn't you want to sign up to HFemails?

"The other guy" didn't miss any training camp. Totally fine that ADA and Lemieux want to hold out until camp starts. The problem with ADA holding out once camp starts is that he is not an established veteran. He needs every moment to improve. With Fox and others nipping at his heals holding out won't really hurt the Rangers too much, but it will hurt ADA's development and future earning potential.

Sorry to disappoint you, but that already happened.

Funny story: my boss is good friends with Claude and has been involved in Brendan’s life ever since he was a kid. My boss stayed with Brendan when he visited Winnipeg several times over the past few years; he’s also developed a friendship with Roslovic. Anyway, Jack and Brendan were in town a few weekends ago, and the three played some pickup hockey.

I asked my boss what the two were like. He said Jack is a good kid; Brendan is a scoundrel (he didn’t phrase it so nicely) “just like his father.”

It gave me a chuckle.

I agree on this essentially being the ‘show me and you’ll get paid’ contract, but I think it’s still relevant because those contracts ‘forced’ them to buyout Shattenkirk, and who knows what kinds of roster moves are going to happen throughout the season, but after doing all this to get under the cap by the skin of their teeth this offseason, they’re going to have $6m in dead cap space from Shattenkirk on the books and potentially another scenario where they’re going to have to figure out what to do to get money to pay people. Granted, if they do really want him around after this season, they’ll force him through arbitration with a lowball offer or just pay someone to take a brendan Smith or something

I’d like to see Fox in the NHL before I’d say he’s ‘nipping at his heels’
