I don't remember anybody proclaiming Gallagher was not a NHL caliber player. He just can't play on a 2nd line anymore while he is paid the salary for a 2nd line player. It's not a problem for us but it would be a problem for a team like Colorado.

Several said he wasn't an NHL calibre forward anymore.

In this very thread someone said that if the Canadiens bought him out, he wouldn't be able to find a contract and would have to settle for a PTO like Tanner Pearson.

It was pretty much the same crosscheck on Tavares, where they initially handed a 5 minutes. I guess we know what the league wants....

A penalty should be a penalty when its obvious it is a penalty. They call chinchy shit and then let other stuff go.

I unfortunately only got to watch the first period and about 5 minutes of the second. He was busting his ass out there when most of the team was playing scared. I read that he missed a good scoring chance and people were pissed about it, but I’m still happy to have him. He’s running on an empty gas tank nearing the end of his career and still has more heart that most of the team combined.

If he can keep going to the net and stirring things up, he’s doing his job. It’s unfortunate how overpaid he is for what he can still bring to the table at this point, but it is what it is. Hope he gets a garbage goal next game.

What a shame you can't put Gallagher in Slafskovsky's body,what a bloody monster he'd be I. Those Washington lads have more players with his type of game than Montreal and Montreal sure could benefit for having of that type hunger.

No one can every question Gallaghers heart or effort level...his skill is kind of questionable but he drives the net and gets those dirty goals like no one else on this team.

Maybe he can teach Slaf a thing or two
