Warriors are 6-15-3-1. They lost 9-0 to Calgary yesterday. I figured there would be a dropoff after last season's run but I didn't think it would be this severe.

Good for Yager, let's hope he benefits from another nice, long playoff run. I saw the Hurricanes in Brandon a few weeks ago and they are a team with great potential. That Edwards (former ICE)/Wormald line is really good but adding Yager who will take residency on the top line I'm assuming, will give them some much needed depth.

Good for him, a lot of us saw this coming and it was simply a matter of time.
Quite the prospect arc we've had this past few months. Rutger who was once the talk of the town on these boards to pittsburgh where hes struggling to be productive, and we get a bonafide prospect of equal (if not better) value in return. Even on a struggling moose jaw team he played incredibly well and this is another big step in his development.

With McGroarty’s struggles, wouldn’t it be rather humourous to see him sent down to the ECHL?

The Wheeler special. He might make Captain yet.
I look forward to the inevitable sequels in the Wheeler Books of Angst.

Book 1: Yager -- Why Is He Locked In At 2C And PP1????

Book 2: Yager -- Inspirational Skipper or Locker Room Cancer?

Book 3: Yager -- Re-sign or Trade for Position of Need?

Book 4: Yager -- This New Contract is an Effin Anchor Just Like I/We Predicted!!!

Book 5 -- Yager -- When Do We Buy This Schlemiel Out Already???!!!

Book 6 -- Yager -- Is it Time to Retire the Jersey?

Until then, here's hoping for a great WC and some more offensive growth with the new club.

Probably have to go back to 2015 when Petan was tied with McDavid and Reinhart with 11 points in 7 games.

We all know how that worked out for the Jets
Yup no prospect is a guarantee to become a superstar, a few obviously do but LOTS don't . Having said that Yager looks like a good one and he was made captain of Team Canada .

Most prospects aren’t so special that they can step into the NHL without adapting their game to a role in the NHL. Yager seems well on the way to this as he really looks to be a 2-way center with solid defensive awareness to his game. This with enough offense which seems to have can translate nicely to a #2 center which we have needed for a very long time.

Honestly if Yager turns into that Chevy made a absolutely unbelievable trade just because as you say we need good centers coming into the lineup pretty soon.

So many players who dominate at the Junior level do so by cheating the game for offense

One thing I notice with Yager when I watch him is that he's always on the right side of the puck in all three zones

In a lot of ways, his game looks "pro ready" but I think it will take some time for his build to fill out, kinda like JoMo. I'd bet his development path will look similar
