That might go down as the best goal of his career. He does like three different things there that are pure magic, including a perfect backhand shot.

Him walking Weegar to the ugly dog park and putting it by Bobbarofsky was better.

I do love that Larsson started looking for laundry change in the middle of the ice.
He beats two guys here while the 3rd doesnt realize what's happening. Then spread the goalie and nails a perfect backhand. I like this one.

Point has 35 goals in 58 games so far. He's still on good pace to hit 50.

For comparison:

Lecavalier (2007)35 goals in first 57 games52 goals total0.63 g/gp
Stamkos (2010)35 goals in first 62 games51 goals total0.62 g/gp
Stamkos (2011)35 goals in first 47 games45 goals total0.55 g/gp
Stamkos (2012)35 goals in first 52 games60 goals total0.73 g/gp
Point (2023)35 goals in first 58 games?0.60 g/gp so far

I added 2011 because Stammer was on pace to hit at least 50 that season before his goal scoring dropped off in the last 20-30 games.

Point has stepped up this year. Sadly the defense has held the Bolts back. I wish he and Kucherov could teach Celly how to generate more offense.

Mr I-score-all-the-goals-for-my-team is now 3rd in the league in goals scored at 43, only 2 behind Pasta (and 12 behind McJesus, oof).

Point is an excellent finisher, he just needs someone to get him the puck which is why him and Kucherov work so well, nobody has really found an answer for them in the last 3 years. Or you know, we could just not utilize the 3rd highest scorer in the league and just play him with Cirelli.

It really started when that thread about him being overrated popped up.

Confirmed HF reader.

Well part of that argument was how much he benfits from Kucherov and that's true as well, some of those passes have been insane and overlooked. We saw how ineffective Point was in his spot on the PP without Kucherov on the half wall. I like Point but it's night and day when he plays with/without Kucherov whereas Kuch was putting up the exact same numbers last year playing with Stamkos.

Show me how many of the last 20 games Stamkos played with Cirelli and I'll tell you a little secret we are all aware of but Coop
That's that 6irelli offense we get to witness for 8 more years! Blind drop passes off the trailers path, stone hands and 0 creativity! That's my 2C!!!

I'm willing to bet PEB and Eyssimont with Stamkos would result in more than 3 in 20.
