Off day for Lenders.

Good first and second for the dogs but they are playing a meh team on the second of a back to back, so not sure it shows they're getting it together.

Isn't Niagara currently a top 10 team in Canada?

I don't see them staying there, but they are definitely playing well.
They're not a terrible team like in years past but I don't think there's a moral victory in putting up 50 shots vs a non contending team that's playing their third straight game.

I think you're vastly underselling how good Niagara has been.

Almost a third of the way through the season and they're in 1st place in the conference and have 2nd most points in the entire OHL.

I'm still not convinced that they will be there at the end, but they have 2 ELITE goal scorers and an outstanding goalie. They are definitely a contender.

I'll be optimistic about last night. It's a little bit of the idea that when you're at the end of a winning streak you probably get some wins you don't deserve, and when you're about to end a losing streak you lose some ones you deserve to win.

They played hard and desperate last night. Coaching staff had them ready to play. They generated loads of chances. Goaltending and a few giveaways were the difference.

They do need to break the losing streak though. With their current schedule from now to Christmas, it could get ugly.

Big game today.
Hopefully the guys can come out of yesterday’s game fired up and not feeling defeated. Steelheads are coming into a 3 in 3 after two big losses (5-1 to Ottawa and 8-2 to Kingston) so you can bet there’s a feeling of desperation for a win from both teams.

Does anyone think there is a realistic chance of a coaching change? This is not to say Jay McKee is not a good coach. But when your playing this bad with a good roster that should have you contending for the top spot in the conference if not top 3 how long do you keep this going?

We might be seeing the effect of losing 2 assistant coaches.

I don't see them getting rid of the head coach any time soon.

I don’t think Jay goes anywhere…
Questioning our new assistants more 🤷🏻‍♀️
I also think it’s too soon to make any drastic changes, but who knows.

No. The guys are still playing hard for him. He's a good coach that will remain calm and not make knee jerk decisions.

I can't even imagine what it would take for him to be fired. Legit think he'd have to miss the playoffs and have the team completely quit on him.

Just my opinion. I'd completely question the management if they were to change coaches right now.

I really didn't like Laise as a head coach. Not surprised they hired him as an assistant seeing how loyal the organization is.

Somebody really needs to tell these kids that they don't have to fight every time there is a big hit.

2 STUPID penalties by Nelson and Roberts.

As well as Roberts has played, he has been reverting back to his old self these past couple of games.

In the middle of a winning streak and giving away PPs is just plain stupid.(Roberts didn't get an instigator, but he was lucky)

Kinda feels like as he drops down the lineup (Roberts) he feels like he needs to do something to contribute. I'll say this, Roberts cares a lot about this team and his team mates.

Just so many times he can't control it.

Agree with all of those points. I don't think there is anybody on the team more invested in their teammates success.

The problem is that he so often hurts the team.

It's funny that you mention that because there was no fight after the Jiricek hit. Some Bles fans upset no one stepped up for their high pick.

Well we snapped the losing streak after I pondered if a coaching change was needed. I’d like to think maybe it had something to do with it ;)

I did not see the game today but Jiricek got rocked again? He took a hard hit against Guelph, a beauty open ice hit. As I did not see the hit in todays game it might be out of line, but this might be something have to learn playing on a smaller North American ice

I'm referring to the hit he took in that Guelph game.

That’s a solid game! Much better all around. Pucks actually being cleared out when under pressure, powerplay adding some net front presence instead of just looking for the lardis play. Solid forechecking all game and actually hitting the net when they have chances.

Solid game by Egorov. Josh Avery really stood out to me early in the game. Works hard and drew a penalty. Roberts took a few penalties but I’m kinda fine with it because the team still lacks toughness so having a psycho (in a good way) on the team to keep other teams honest isn’t totally a bad thing but come playoff time he’ll need to tone it down a bit in close games.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Holmes in the lineup the next time these two teams play.

You guys need to go out and spend some picks on a goal scoring forward badly.
If i was Brampton i would probably be calling on Musty and Luchanko.

Preaching to the choir on this one. Especially with Lavoie being completely uninspired to start the year.

I'd prefer Luchanko because of the 2 year possibility. Either guy probably takes an 08 to get.

I would honestly also being looking at an OA to take Lavoie spot. He has been a huge disappointment.

Agreed on Luchanko because their window is more of a 2 year window.
