What happened to Eskit.? Tough decision. If Eskit is out long term then likely no trade of a goalie.As far as McQueen, his injury must be similar to Cayden Lindstrom of MH who has missed a huge amount of time with a back issue. Vilardi of the Jets also had back issues in the past, and he is back better than ever. So there is hope for McQueen.

Ravendahl traded to Kamloops for a draft pick. Not really surprising as the young 16 yr old d men have passed him on the depth chart. Wish him well in Kamloops.

Not surprised they moved on from Elick, guy looked like he didn't want to be here. CBus must have had something to do with this because the guy isn't developing. But they got a nice return. Gavin will produce offense and help the powerplay and Arpin is a big body on the right side who can log some minutes with the young guys.
I think they set themselves up nicely for next year and when this team gets fully healthy they won't be an easy out in the playoffs

Team is getting healthier which is positive as they head out on an extensive road trip to B.C. Road trip could go a long way to determining where the team finishes in the standings. Good to see Murray not afraid to make trades. He is setting up the team well for next year without sacrificing his high draft picks this year. Sure would be nice to somehow obtain the # 1 pick in the draft to get Schultz from Regina Pat Canadians so he and his buddy Surkan could play together with the WK.Wouldn’t be surprised if he applies for exceptional status like DuPont did to play in the Dub next year. He is that good..

Totally agree all around here. If Gavin can pick up his game a bit along side Nguyen's speed they can be a nice duo, assuming they get put together. I like that they are both 18 so we have them for a year plus. So Elick and a 3rd for this return I feel is an A trade. I wish the best for Elick. Maybe he needed that new team outlook to help him get back to what he can do on a regular basis.

I was thinking the same thing but I doubt Regina or MJ will trade that pick. Local boy Reid Nicol would be a good one though
Problem with the draft is the WK picks will be mid round picks so even Nichol may be out of reach. Do you think Regina or MJ would take someone like Gradey Hope and both 1st rounders for the #1 pick.?
Great effort tonight by the WK coming back and scoring with 45 seconds left to beat a very strong Victoria team. Sure impressed by the effort this team displays most games. Did the team ever luck out with Pantelas and Boehm both 16 and playing together as a duo on defence. Very high upside here going forward. I think Allard is going to be good also. All 3 are big and skate well. Lucked out with Ronald on defence also. Has really developed well. Not hard to see why Elick and Ravendahl were booths traded. Defence will be very strong next year as the only player they lose on defence is Shipley(who has been excellent this year). Not sure if they bring Belusko back but he is versatile but not sure how effective for an import. Will need to draft an import scorer.
Not crazy about how this road trip is shaping up. Lost to Everett by folding in the final minutes of the game and have gone down 2-0 against Vancouver including giving up a goal with 1 second left in the first period that Bjarnson should have stopped. The Giants first goal was very soft also. Need to get going. Have not seen much from Gavin so far. Perimeter player. May be reason he was available in trade after all the hype after he was drafted 2nd overall in the Prospects draft. Another Zimmer?? Hope not. Horrible giveaway by Flamand led to breakaway goal making it 3-1 Giants. Out shooting Giants outplaying Giants getting outgoaltended .Great effort but a couple of brain farts and very ordinary goaltending let them down tonight. Needed Bjarnson to be better today.

Does anyone know what the issue is with Arpin? He has not played at all on the current road trip.
3-3 on the current road trip for the WK. Too bad they sort of folded in games against Portland and Everett or else they would have a super road trip. One game left against a very tough opponent in PG. If Barney plays like last night they certainly have a chance. Still hard to believe that the team puts the 2 16 yr old defencemen together on the ice playing a regular shift and they certainly do not look overwhelmed. These two along with Allard could be real studs in a year or two.I do not remember the team ever having 16 year old d men that do not play sheltered minutes.
Not sure how much longer the WK can keep in the race for top spot in the East with the number of injuries they have. Have really played with a lot of guts the past 3 or 4 games. Missing Hadland,Jacobsen,Arpin and Shipley along with McQueen ( most of the year) is really a tough break for the team. But others have stepped up including the younger guys getting more ice time will help in the long term. Some of top prospects injured also with Bhatal and Surkan. Injuries the great unknown in sports can play a major role in a team’s success.

A silver lining is that the younger guys are doing so well so early it bodes well for the coming seasons. Been really impressed with the young D and Turko this last stretch
Yes this team has really come together in spite of missing McQueen most of the year and Jacobson and Shipley for the last few games. Looking ahead their schedule is very tough so not sure how they make out but going forward this team will have very few openings on their roster next year.
Hey Wheat Kings fans, Anyone know what happened to Tulk yesterday? I noticed he wasn’t playing in the third period.
Looks like the WK season is about to end, the future looks very good with a healthy McQueen and Jacobson as well as new blood in Surkan and Bhutal and the continued development of our 3 16 yr old defencemen. Will really miss our 20’s as they were really good this year. But with 4 picks in the first 40 of the prospects draft the future is certainly looking good.
Well the boys won one for the gripper. One more game for sure on Friday in Lethbridge. Good effort. Good for Eskit who will be #1 next year..Mantei,Michels, and Johnson fir OA
Anyone have any ideas as to who the WK have targeted in the prospects draft since they pick 12 and 15 I believe?
Next year country for the WK. Not good enough to defeat Lethbridge. Seemed like questionable reffing which seems the norm for the WHL. On to next year. Lots of promise for the future. Should be able to score some goals with McQueen,Gavin,Hadland, Michels, Jacobson, Baulmuller,and Johnson. Obviously Eskit is a very good goalie. Defence will really miss Shipley, but Mantei will be back along with Arpin, Ronald and the 3 16’s to form a strong defence. Add Surkan and Bhatal to the mix plus 2 imports( yes Belusko gone and Petr would be a 2 spot player. He is not good enough for that.) wonder if Edmonton would consider trading #1 to us so we could put Schltz and Surkan together.
