Wow! The Regina Pats got a decent forward and 1st round prospect pick from Everett for Jaxin Vaughn???? He is hardly an impact player. He may be tough but takes a lot of dumb penalties. This is head scratcher to be sure. Everett GM must have thought he needed to add some grit to his lineup but that’s quite the cost!!

This is not a post I want to be hearing. :-( I don't know much about Vaughn over here in the W. conference, but Brown was a very good forward for the Tips. Not sure if he's solving a problem the Tips really have. Any other details?

I attended this game and I was impressed by Lethbridge, great shut down game is right, the Wheaties had a hard time sustaining any extended time in the Hurricanes zone. They are close in the standings but Lethbridge clearly looked like the better team. That Edwards line is a force offensively too, very impressive.

Not sure if Jacobson doesn't have the right linemates or what but for all the hype, I can't say I really noticed him all that much.

Hope Nguyen bounces back, that looked pretty tough. Also, that was a crazy open-ice hit on Wormald too, when he went down I was worried that he was in trouble. Good job by the stripes on breaking up that fight before he could get checked out.
I don't disagree on the Jacobson comment with linemates. But they have moved him up and down the top two lines. He is only 16, and plays very predictable zone coverage in high slot and face off circle looking for that errand puck or pass. McQueen didn't start of so red hot in his rookie year either. So time will tell.

Tough weekend coming up with 3 games in 3 nights in Alberta. Not sure which WK team will show up. The one that was outplayed and out muscled against TC or the team that basically controlled the whole game against SC. Jacobson will be OK. Great hockey sense you cannot teach. Hope the team gets to host Mem cup but the competition in the WHL to be the host is stiff and I predict MH or Kelowna will win the bid. Trade dominoes may fall after that. To build for the future we trade Bjarnson to a contender for a number of assets. The team should be stronger next year with Mantei,Johnson, and Michael’s as OA. Our defence should be very good with our 16’s a year older. Eskit should be good in goal. Two very good incoming16’s with Surkan and Bhatal. McQueen healthy.Lineup filled with 2 imports ( not sold on Belusko) and assets from Bjarnson trade.

WK losing in a close game in MH. Much better effort tonight. Have given up 6 goals so far. Not Bjarnson’s finest performance. Hope Team Canada is not watching him tonight. Sure miss McQueen on the PP. Some WK MIA this game namely Flamand, WK out shot MH but Bjarnson was awful. Don’t say that very often but tonight he left his game on the bus. Let’s get RD tommorow.

What's the feelings on WK upgrades before the deadline? Hard to know how good this team can be as they can't stay healthy. I think their D are fine. Maybe a top 6 forward. Lots of big trades happened already. Not sure who will be available as there is not a lot of bottom dwellers right now. Regina and Moose Jaw have been pretty much picked over.

Watch for teams on the playoff bubble to either be all in or sell. I expect Kelowna (reload for 2026 Mem Cup), Kamloops, Seattle, Wenatchee all to make moves that weaken their current roster.

Not sure what forward upgrades are available for WK to trade for. Two teams definitely out of it Regina and MJ have been picked over. Yes a forward upgrade would be really good since McQueen’s status is unknown..It would really help if the team could stay healthy. I have no clue this year what direction the team will take. They have 10 games to decide before the trade deadline. I do believe their team next year will be better than this years so maybe they make move or moves to improve next years product.

WK trade for 19 goalie from Everett today. Must be a stop gap measure as Barney is at the Jr worlds and apparently Eskit is injured. McFadden will start tonight. One will have to be moved when Barney is back and Eskit healthy. Maybe pre cursor to a t Barney trade as with Calgary and Lethbridge loading up and the WK daunting schedule a playoff spot may be slipping away. Cam Allard called up from Estevan as Boehm must still be injured. A forward Garrett Thom was called up on a 3 game tryout from Camrose.. 3 players away and at least 3 injured. Season kind of going off the rails due in large part to the large number of injuries
