We've been trying to trade him for weeks, and he was open to waiving his NTC. His extra year kills his value.

It actually makes a lot of sense for the Penguins to claim him. They're already lacking in top-9 talent and Saad is an easy "get for free and flip later" candidate. Even if he's only moved for like a 3rd next year, I figure Saad as a rental would have value.

Somewhere in between. Team playing bad and he has limited icetime, sometimes with sketchy line mates, but sometimes with good ones. His deadline aav is so low and more so if stl would retain. I’d think he’d be an okay late minute deadline day addition if a team had the space to add him to the bottom of the group. Not somebody you’d put in your top units or if you are that’s crazy don’t do that, but of the small cap hit guys, maybe with a full roster he’s a healthy scratch, he’s probably got the most upside with minimal liability, a guy you’d love if injuries hit. Not terrible playoff insurance especially if the team has a weakness in winger depth.
