Tough one last night to lose a regulation win with less then 2 seconds left and have it end so quickly in OT. Thought both teams were playing quality hockey, tight game, but once Barrie tied it up so close to the buzzer I was afraid it was a missed opportunity. Steelheads don't fare well with 3 on 3 OT.

Fluke win over the last place team. All season I was hoping that when this team finally got healthy they would look like contenders. No chance they are doing any damage in the playoffs with the way they defend and take dumb penalties.
Oh how I miss Charlie Callaghan.

Kamaris is out for 2 games for a crosscheck.

Crazy line combos last night, JR has to be sending a message.

The PK and PP have been under performing, and add in the unnecessary penalties, these guys need to shape up soon or it could very well be a first round exit.

Time for a JR report card:
GM: Trades D
Rehkopf cost a lot, but one could argue that he has produced and warranted the 10 picks given up (3 seconds, 3 thirds, +)
Sova not worth a second and two fourths for a 20 year old dman who can’t defend and hasn’t out scored Finn Harding
Gibbons cost a fourth and a sixth: released
Alriksson cost a second and two thirds. At the time it seemed like a good buy, but he hasn’t produced at the level he was in Guelph - this one is on the coach
Gillespie - a second and a third for a marginal improvement over Gibbons.
Smith - this may be the biggest stinker of them all. 7 picks for a 20 year old who hasn’t scored a point in 11 games since the trade and hasn’t improved our defensive play one bit.

Coaching F
For a team ranked #1 in the country after the first week of the season to missing out on the top 16 most recent OHL power rankings. That’s some feat.
Oh, and he plays his kid rather than developing Troy Patton.

The owner needs to step up and do the right thing.

Richmond would be my nominee for worst GMOY. I don’t think the steelheads had a real chance of contending (this season) with Misa, MacDonell, and Karmiris as the centres.
With the possible exception of deciding to play with one OA for ~30 games, Richmond’s greatest blunder imo was releasing the team’s best defensive forward in LeFebvre in favour of Leskovar.

There's alot to agree with there, the team defense is not going to last long at all come playoff time. They're third last in the conference gor goals against only a mere half dozen more and they would be last. I get that Drags has only played 2 games and they had quite a few games with APs but they haven't looked much sharper with some bodies back.

I'd like to see some more T Patton myself, #73 never sits, not sure he justifies his TOI.

Looks like a possible first round loss at this point, but there's 21 games left to put it together. However they currently trail the 4th place Generals by 13 points and have Sudbury and Niagara to climb past also. That's a tall order to say the least.

Not too mention the PP, PK have been spotty as well...

Team discipline also a big issue just like last year.

I'm sure that #73 is a big distraction in the room as the players know he shouldn't be on the ice/in the league and feel for the other players not playing. Even though the talent are trying to focus on the game, its still a distraction just like when we had the same issue in Sudbury a while back. I bet if #73 was out of the equation, the team would play a lot better.
