There’s some pretty amazing nature here beyond just the beaches. The Everglades alone are an absolutely incredible ecosystem.

Which included 2 ENG if I remember correctly.brady had 7 points last playoffs in 6 games including 4 goals.
I would be interested in this at one point in our lives. But now we have an ever so hefty “exit tax” if we decide to leave Canada.I think there is a small number (myself included) that are Canadians that have moved to the U.S. I’d share some insight that reflects on a future stage of life. But, it would be in a more private setting versus on the board.
Our family loves Florida. We are there every six months or so. Mostly in the Miami/Lauderdale area. I will make sure I catch an Ottawa senators game in Sunrise this season. My son already called on throwing his Brady jersey on the ice in Florida.Even the politics is not as overbearing as you’d think.
Florida is one of the weirdest places in North America, both in terms of people and nature. I understand it’s not for a lot of people but the state’s got character.
Hopefully Staois and the scouts paid attention to Zach Benson's play in the playoffs. 5'9", high IQ player with a great motor. I can understand valuing size on the back-end, but high IQ should be a consideration as well, especially in the forward group. The Ruck twins are sub 6 foot, cerebral, skill types.
In the last 9 drafts - in 60 total picks - the Senators have drafted 3 players that measured under 6 feet tall. They avoid this type of player completely, preferring to draft tall, athletic, toolsy types that they hope to be able to mould into productive hockey players.
It would be a big move against type for the Sens to draft these guys.
Or...Stankoven?...when he beat us.Hopefully Staois and the scouts paid attention to Zach Benson's play in the playoffs. 5'9", high IQ player with a great motor. I can understand valuing size on the back-end, but high IQ should be a consideration as well, especially in the forward group.
I thought I was the only one who felt this way, never understood the Brady hype. Happy to see him go. This is Sandy and Timmy's team now.I've never felt less emotionally attached to a star player the team has had to trade. I was only feeling excited when I saw the news. Just not a player I've ever been drawn to like that.
I also wanted no part of his extension but everyone who wasn't in denial knew the max runway was 2 years at most anyways, so this was a foregone conclusion.
MAGA bro captain of a Canadian team isn't a good match. Would rather players not have podcasts either.
I'm happy to see the page turned here in a situation I thought would drag and hang over them for another year. It's some lost production for sure, but he was arguably well down the chart for highest importance last year and I'm excited to see the "Brady era" and all the constant talk over. Feels a bit like the final flushing of the overarching 3 stooges era.
Old dogs can't learn new tricks. And we're ancient.Hopefully Staois and the scouts paid attention to Zach Benson's play in the playoffs. 5'9", high IQ player with a great motor. I was an Expos fan, still pissed about that lockout (what could've been).Yes in 1994 the Expos had the best record in the National League when the player's strike cancelled the rest of the season. The Jays were already languishing though, they were last or near the bottom of their division if I rememeber right.
I would guess that when I left Canada (many years ago), things were different i.e., there was no exit tax. Returning to Canada after living in the U.S. can be a challenge as well which was the focus of my post.I would be interested in this at one point in our lives. I can't figure out why they're going so low. One of them led the WHL in scoring I believe. The Ruck twins are sub 6 foot, cerebral, skill types.

Him and his brother always seemed to me like the exact kind of people I look to actively avoid in life and in sports.I thought I was the only one who felt this way, never understood the Brady hype. Happy to see him go. This is Sandy and Timmy's team now.
Odd question:
Has any of the Senators players said goodbye to Brady in SM? Like any mention at all?
Sometimes silence from teammates goes a long way towards showing what the locker room thought about this. And this silence, to me, is rather deafening. It could be that they're in vacation mode, but when your "leader" and "team captain" leave, usually you hear some players get out of their hiatus to say something like thank you.
I've not seen one person yet say it.

And it took time for them to build that. Expecting the Sens to become contenders overnight is laughable IMO. Not only do they have 2 1st round picks to trade, but also Sabres 2nd, a couple of extra 3rd rounders. I'd like it if Steve can keep # 9 and use the other draft capital to acquire a wingers but they also need a backup goalie, and a D if they don't want to give Spence a raise. Top 10 picks don't grow on trees and this team has to build via the draft. I think even these scouts can't screw up the # 9 pick too badly. Picking Boucher was under Dorion, hoping SS is smarter than that.Carolina has far more "quality" depth at both forward and defence than the Sens. Carolina could play their game not only because they committed to their system but they had the players to do so.
Buffalo's goaltending is a giant liability. I have zero faith in it, and losing Tuch is not trivial. I get they have players that will improve, I have serious doubts that improvement will outpace the regression I expect from their goalies and the loss of one of their top players for nothingI think you are underestimating the Atlantic and the internal growth Mont and Buffalo will experience. They have a bunch of young, real impact players that are still on their parabolic growth curve, they will improve rapidly yoy and that will have a meaningful impact. We're past that phase, won't be improving that much internally, and they were already at our level last year. They are going to be better next year regardless even with Brady here.
Also, Montreal OT farming is not as bad as you seem to imply. When I saw their games, I saw a team that knew how to battle and snatch a tie or victory from the jaws of defeat. They were clutch, and had that fighting spirit that you need to keep on battling till the very end.
The amount of times they managed to come back and tie it late is indicative of something actually very good imo, and I don't view it as much of a negative that they pushed so many games to OT. I saw a group of kids gaining more and more confidence in their abilities to overcome adversity under pressure, they showed a lot of character. For such a young group, I was actually very impressed they kept on managing to get back in it, and a bit jealous because we couldn't do that most of the time.
You might be right about the Central, it will be tough slugging there all year, maybe the prospect of losing Robertson is what knocked them down a bit.
