Jake Sanderson is guaranteed the next captain of this franchise by the way. 100% guaranteed.

He will lead this team on and off the ice and he will be a great leader.

It won’t be Stutzle and it won’t be Chabot.
He might be named the next Captain, but do you think he's going to want to stay long?

He was already harassed by our idiot media team over the olympics and visiting the white house. If the Sens show any sign of being good, the toronto media will jump on the first opportunity to drive our boy out of town.

Ottawa media is a joke compared to somewhere like MTL or TO. Tons of American markets are just as tough too, specifically the North Eastern cities.
Can't imagine looking at our softball media pool and thinking this is a tough media market. Absolute kid gloves here compared to elsewhere.

Like, are people really complaining that we lost a player that couldn't hack our media market? That bitched ad infinitum about how much shit his controversial actions kicked up behind him?

I think so, right?

Too early to tell but FLA has to drop off eventually. This pick could be a gem
If they don't get goaltending sorted they're screwed.

Barkov might be the best two way forward in the league, but Bennett and Brady are huge defensive liabilities and Bobo isn't there to bail them out, Barkov can only be in the ice so much.

I'm glad the bandaid was ripped off this summer instead of waiting another year.

The return we would have got a year from now almost certainly would have been quite a bit worse.

If it was going to happen at some point, better it happened now so we could maximize his return.
Hopefully they are paying attention to Sanderson and Stutzle because if they aren’t happy should maximize those returns as well.

This is a weak return. Yuck

I think the difficult part is we didn’t get a player back in return.

The value of these picks is very good though given the circumstances.

It’s underwhelming looking at the roster right now but the value itself of these picks is good.

I think we will make a strong push to acquire Matthew Knies.

If something as softball as this makes him want out, then he's not cut out for a Canadian market.

Jake Sanderson would be playing for Canada if Hockey Canada didn't have their heads up their asses with how they run the junior program.

He's not Brady, who bleeds blue and white.

Some people here are getting mopey.

I'm at my keyboard being all:

Be happy, people. We're finally rid of this idiot!

I think he will.

Sanderson is a different type of guy. Tkachuk’s are just not the same. I think Sanderson wants to lead and he has what it takes. I think he believes in this team even without Brady.

I also think we might look at this differently in a few weeks. There’s time to make things happen. There will be at least 2-3 moves before the start of the season and now possibly we’ll look at the free agent market.

People are still on this train, huh.

The guy is often a defensive liability in a league where more and more top 6 forwards throw the body, block shots, fight for pucks in corners and defend well.

The talking points for Brady Tkachuk for anyone being honest: physical, can get you 30+ goals if you give him first billing in the powerplay and pair him with talent.

The comparison for Brady Tkachuk is not superstars. It's slightly more than what Kevin Fiala returned for Minnesota.

I totally get your point, that in reality, he isn't as good as his numbers suggest, and etc, etc....

But, at the end of the day... he's a 26 year old, 6ft4, physical player who teams salivate over to have in the playoffs.
