I would

Seriously.

Our economy is the one that is hurting the most. No state tax/extra million in your pocket/great weather year round/BBL's.......what's wrong with that scenario again?

The weather is actually awful during the summer. Like terrible.

But Brady won't be here in the offseason so he doesn't care about that.

They also started the conference, like, ten minutes late. And he mentioned he had spoken to Giroux right before. And he got a call in the middle of it.

Sounds like they're being busy little bees down there.
I don't think he would speak as frankly about not drafting at 9 unless there was something incredibly close to the finish line.

Gone are the days when players were traded by management with no questions asked.
The tide has turned and it seems players are calling the shots more.
True, the players now have more control over where they live and who they play for due to the CBA and collective bargaining. It's called FREEDOM.

Before this we had the rich teams taking all the best players and players getting paid peanuts and having to play through illnesses and injuries.

Although the CBA and the salary cap have made life easier for small market/revenue teams, it is still not a level playing field for teams and likely never will be.

Would be great if all media revenues were shared equally by all teams! PARITY!

It has dawned on me only recently that there must be some sort of abolishing NT and NMC's. Ultimately the players hold all the cards and shouldn't be ever. You go where we want you while not being cuffed to just accept any trade due to those clauses. f***in joke.

As much as I would love this, this is probably a red line for the NHLPA.

Lol if Andlauer in 2 years told Brady he wouldn't go over $8.5x4 or something and Brady walked would you blame Brady or Andlauer?

This team would have committed to Brady and backed up the truck. Eugene was a cheap fool and didn't want to pay Stone during a rebuild.

Stone still summers in Ottawa for f***'s sake.
I don't think they would have. I don't think this management were sold on him just like he wasn't sold on Ottawa. The way he handled his extension it was obvious he only cared about himself.

Maybe. Point of the post still stands though and I will not tolerate Mark Stone slander and certainly not in an attempt to lionize Brady.

I think we should do as others have suggested and focus on drafting prospects and trading for players who are not Americans who most likely want to play in the USA rather than a small Canadian city. That still leaves us with great choices of Canadians, Swedes, Finns, Russians, Czechs, Slovaks, Germans and XXXX !
This may be true to a certain extent but I think the lure of playing in the US if far more of a draw to many more international players. Small market teams no matter in what league can only offer so much. Unless you are elite the other benenfits far outweigh the grind of the season just to lose in the first round.. Plays know how good their teams are and the prospect of spending 5-7 years there. Lucky for us we get them young enough from drafting that they grow up here, start a family here, become part of a community. As a vet you already have that somewhere else unless you are from here.

Nonsense. Before the cap players were pretty much locked down to their team until they were at least 28 or older. The rich teams only got the best players after they were well past their prime and the rich teams generally got rich by winning lots of playoff games.

I dunno if anyone else has mentioned this cuz I haven’t read every post, but a nice silver lining here (kudos to Staios to jumping early and keeping quiet) is that this deal effectively f***ed Yzerman and the whole Larkin situation. Like took a whole option away from him, and will now give another team a shit ton of leverage to deliver a lesser return for Larkin. Steady Steve just yoinked them picks right out from under and straight up f***ed that yzerplan. You love to see it.

how do you think it impacted the minnesota guys?

These posts will be deleted. For most people that are keeping their heads down and just focusing on living life it is not a daily concern. I say that as someone living in an extremely MAGA state as a non-republican.

Rich white guys are not dealing with any kind of problems down here right now. They never do obviously. Hockey players will be fine.

I think we should trade back the #9 for a player and another pick.

#9 for #18 and Connor McMichael (RFA)
2 3rds for Debrusk

Debrusk - Stu - Batherson
Foegele - Cozens - McMichael
Greig - Pinto- Amadio
Zetterlund - Halliday - Giroux

We keep 3 firsts picks to restock the cupboards.
