I'd like to have him in LA but LA doesn't have the movable pieces for him. They won't be moving Byfield, Clarke or Turcotte. So it would have to be around someone like Fiala, Danault, or Moore. Things Ottawa wouldn't want.

The main reason is contract purposes. Colorado already has one player making over $12m, with Makar sure to be on his way. Tkachuk while not as good offensively, provides good value as a return and is cheaper than Mikko.
This would be the best deal we could make… you’d do an Extended Rantanen for Tkachuk 1 for 1?

Too much. Some GM would absolutely pay a crazy prize because of his name and reputation as a player thinking it does what it did for the Panthers. He isn't his brother though, not even close. Guy still has a lot of growing up to do.
Your team should be all over him but you’d rather have figure skaters.

B. Tkachuk is exactly the player New Jersey needs. He would put their team over the top. Wonder what the ask would be in return.

I believe every team would love to have Brady, but not sure they all have packages Sens would want. Teams I think could offer something worth considering…

New Jersey
Buffalo
Dallas
Utah
Anaheim
Carolina
Chicago (not entirely sold though)
Washington (Leonard has to be in any package)
Philadelphia (same as Chicago)
St. Louis

like it or not if the team misses the playoffs this year the team needs a major change to it's core and vibe.

It would be what 8 years of losing? I'm not a hater of Brady, I'm a hater of losing that much.

Brady is the only guy we can trade and potentially get a ransom for.
I’ve been saying the same thing last year, all summer and now. The Sens don’t make playoffs, BT is asking out…and if you’re the Sens, you oblige before July 1st when NTC or NMC, whatever it is, comes into play. Sens could get multiple assets to help this teams roster now and future. It’s a no brainer. You don’t keep him because he’s a fan favorite and “face of your franchise.” This core has been together long enough to figure it out. Changes would and should be made.

I'd love to see what he could do on Smith's wing. They seem like they could complement one another and he'd insulate Smith. Unfortunately SJ doesn't have expendable assets for him.

yeah more meant players that make sense for both teams. obviously seider and raymond and larkin etc make sense for ottawa but theres no use to any of those trades for detroit
Ok, but what happens when Illitch finally realizes that they Yzerplan is crap? Stevie got impatient with losing and tried to fast track things with July 1st cast off's. So instead of being horrible, they were just bad and didn't get any of the real high end picks they should have. Coulda had Cooley, got Kasper instead. Coulda had Michkov, got Danielson instead. Edvinsson is nice, but Power coulda been the perfect Yin to Mo's Yang. Combine that with the misses, Cossa is no Wallstedt and then there's Zadina of course, yikes. Seider & Raymond are not enough to build a winner with
