He's good but he's being overrated and overvalued

Brady will probably force OTT's hand to a preferred destination and they will get an underwhelming package like CBJ did for Rick Nash to NYR.

Just calling a spade a spade
I guess only time with tell, but I don't believe he's going anywhere. In fact, I see him signing an extension if the Sens become a regular playoff contender and bring in the right pieces. So many aging teams or soon-to-be rebuilding/re-tooling teams in the East (Boston, Isles, Mtl, Wash, TB). Most of the Sens stars are still entering their prime.

I understand making the post-season is better than living in the basement. Your team, regardless of Stutzle's "superiority" over Matthews, has yet to improve.

It's hard to fathom that some people can be that limited, you really don't get it, do you?

You gotta be trolling

Tkachuk to CHI for

Kurashev
Reichel
Crevier
2025 1st rounder(Toronto’s)
Unprotected 2026 1st(Gavin McKenna draft)

There's nothing there, unless they are very high on Chicago finishing bottom-5 in 2025-26. Very little value/interest in all of Reichel, Crevier and Kurashev. Don't think they'd claim Kurashev and Crevier if they were on waivers. A late first doesn't accomplish much for a player like Tkachuk.

Look at the other proposals and see if this is is even close to realistic

Buffalo offers Owen Power and Alex Tuch.

uh I would do that in a heart beat, doubt the Sabres would pay that price

Sabres offer :
Cozens, Quinn , Peterka and Samuelson.

This is way too much...

I mean, EP40 has played wing, you can also move Norris to wing…they could also look into possibly trading Pinto or Greig or Norris to help at wing…RD also. Just some thoughts. Again, who the hell knows what’s going on or what’s really being said behind closed doors. GM’s and players say all the right things to the media for the most part so they don’t have to deal w the shit storms…and even then it doesn’t matter lol. I’m actually very curious how it plays out in Vancouver w JT back. I didn’t like his interview today…I mean what he said as far as “don’t ask why he left cause he’s not getting into” I’m fine w…it’s just his demeanor and how he said some things. Either something’s going on in that locker room or his wife kicked his ass out…I don’t know. Just didn’t seem like he was doing okay

Yeah but that's the problem, make that trade and then have to figure out how to fill the wings. None of Norris or Pinto have much history at wing. Greig could be moved to 3rd line C (a position he is better at than Wing) and Pinto could be moved to Wing as of now to rediscover his offensive game. Making that trade rises the need for Wing, which is not a way teams trade (dealing from a position of strength to fill a position of need)

In the current situation, if the Sens trade Tkachuk it is because he doesn't believe in the group anymore (he says the opposite of course) but the needs don't change. Sens would likely would want less proven forwards who can paly wing and picks or a 1 for 1 for another impact forward.

The thing is Tkachuk is 16th in GPG and 17th in PPG among all Wingers since 2022-23. Would need to check for just LW but he's surely Top-10 in both categories. We all know he does a lot more on the ice.

So considering he's an Elite winger and the Sens biggest need is already on the Wing, it doesn't make sense to trade him for a Center and then create bigger needs.

If the Devils re-sign Kovacevic and shuffle around with Dougie's deal for Brady's cap to be taken on, I can totally see Fitz making a play here especially with the family ties and how aggressive he was for Matt in 2022 before he went off to Florida, I assume Nemec++++ for Tkachuk which would be very ironic considering he almost traded the Nemec pick for Matt in the first place

In all seriousness, I don't see Brady moving, the Sens regard him in just a high manner and rightly so

Zac Jones should get it done like the Eichel NYR trades, you're right, I forgot. Saying Ottawa doesn't need a young RHD dman when they'd have corpses on that side. They have Travis Hamonic playing 1RHD currently

some people are speculating that Petey and Jt. Miller cannot coexist.
Hoglander is also in Tocchets doghouse
lets couple that with the fact that Ottawa still cant win games and are in need a shake up.

Van-Ott trade of the century.
Pettersson + Hoglander
for
Tkachuk +Pinto

both main pieces are about the same age, both Hoglander and pinto are very much under performing and again around the same age.

this might be one of the few trades where Ottawa isnt getting like a mix of lesser pieces / picks / futures etc

Casey was excellent this year despite Nemec leaving out to dry to defend odd man rushes every game. And he's been waaay better in the AHL as well.

Nemec was great in the first 40 or so game of last year, but then things quickly started to fall apart for him, and that continued into this season.

View attachment 942988

He keeps trying to be an aggressive offensive dman, but he's just not talented enough to play that game at the NHL level. And because he's a relatively mediocre skater, he's not been able to recover from his over aggressive play. There are reports that this is still a problem even in the AHL.

Casey has displayed significantly better smarts, positioning, skating, puck skills, and shooting ability. The only thing Nemec has on him is size.

And he's not a good enough defender to make an impact as a high end two way D. He's just not a great player and at this point sooner they get rid of him is likely for the better

5v5 hes been better than brady for a couple years. Comparing apples to apples is usually my preference
If Tkachuk put up 25 points per year every team would want him, if Lafreniere put up 25 points per year he would be laughed at and bullied out of the league. And Tkachuk greatly outscores Lafreniere too so he's just on a different level in every single way. Lafreniere is more focused on trying to be the best Alex Laf...iere from his own draft class than one of the best players in the world anyway.

I don't see the Jets trading for him, I could see him considering Winnipeg surprisingly.

I do see:

Dallas: Brady Tkachuk
Ottawa: 1st 2025, 1st 2026, 2nd 2026, Mavrik Bourque and Logan Stankoven

But for some reason I don't see the Senators trading him as he provides a good face for that franchise. Unless he demands a trade. But honestly, I see him being a good fit for the Capitals playing on the same line as Dubois and Wilson.
I would love Brady in Dallas but there is no way I would give all that for him. He is on a great deal and is producing but that next contract would scare me. He reminds me of a young Jaime Benn. How much longer can he keep throwing his body around? It will take its toll.

Now if you want to talk a swap for Jason Robertson different story but that is way too much not to mention there is a cap and Dallas has players to sign.

Nemec is playing in the AHL in D+3 after being the #2 overall pick. Nemec would be a toss in, not even remotely close to the center piece

Theres a difference between facts and opinions. I am just sharing a fact. Laff produces more at 5v5 than brady.

Agree w everything you said. I was more on the side of if you get EP40, you figure it out. The kid is top talent, Sens have multiple C’s who could play wing, but that doesn’t mean they should. I for one think Greig should be given a good look at 3C for now, maybe alternate Norris/Pinto at 2C/W. I’m w you on Greig being better at C, more natural position for him. We all know BT only gets traded if he tells them he’s out. They’re still trying to make it work, which I understand cause there’s no denying the amount of young talent they have. It’s also frustrating cause it doesn’t make sense on how they haven’t been in the playoffs. They’ve kinda exhausted all options…from HC, goalie, defense…GM/Ownership…lol I mean wtf else should they do??? I don’t know, it’ll be an interesting few months that’s for sure.

Dallas fans really that frustrated w Robo? Obviously there’s been a big dip in his points/goals…overall. I know his skating has been an issue, but hasn’t his d turned around? Would FO even consider trading Robo? I was always under the impression he was “a Star for life” kinda guy.

He has always been slow. I think the down scoring is more due to foot surgery in the offseason which makes him even slower. I think his scoring will pick up soon the more he heals and gets back to half speed.

I'd normally agree with everything you say, but Brady will last a while and not just that not only would Robertson likely not waive to Ottawa but Ottawa will want a lot more than that.

The thing is Brady is better than people think and is a super effective player. As he can be a face of a franchise or even the full replacement for Jamie Benn, he's not the guy to make plays he's more shoot first, hit, dump and chase. He also has likely one of the top five largest games in the NHL. He will be expensive.

Bro what?? How is Nemec a toss in? He's a 20 year old RD who was drafted #2. You act like he's a 25 year old who busted out of the league. He played one season where he looked phenomenal and this season the only reason why he isn't playing has nothing to do with him being NHL caliber or not. It's because NJ is that stacked on defense where it's a luxury to have him play in the minors. At the beginning of the season he was coming off an injury & Kovy has looked phenomenal far surpassing expectations & is one of the best shut down pairs in the league. NJs defense is
Dillon-Hamilton
Hughes-Pesce
Siegenthaler-Kovy
We are simply stacked. It's better to let Nemec marinate one more year than mess with a d core that is thriving. Defenseman usually don't come in the league year 1 or 2 and play lights out. I find it hard to believe you're going to get a better prospect than Nemec in a trade. Top centers & top defenseman are rarely up for trade & they are coveted. The only reason NJ would even offer Nemec is because we have such a stacked D prospect pipeline that it's a complete luxury position. We still have Casey and Silayev waiting.
