Brady gives a crap 1 in 4 games.
Whats the give a crap o meter for Norris, Pinto, Bath

Brady is the only player we can trade that makes the team better.

He isn't some incredible line driving, art Ross winning, hart trophy securing jabroni.

He's a guy you want as the ideally the 2nd/3rd best player on his line.

Instead we could get a package that not only has upside but also plugs more holes and gives more depth.

Since it is becoming more clear that our only true way to win is through incredible depth, Brady has to be sacrificed to get it. (Since no one past Stutzle moves the needle)

Imagine we get Mason McTavish + say a Tij Iginla. Maybe Quinn + Peterka, Rossi + Yurov. These trades would be a game changer for this franchise.

It will be the biggest contribution Brady will have made in his career to this team since he can't be bothered to play a team game.
Ya trading your top goal scorer is def going to make the team better.

Trading Norris while his value is decent and a center which other teams are looking for like Nashville and Flames is the obvious move

Just as bad.

The team is not a team. Sorry Pierre.
I would say its way worse not just as bad

Brady is leading the team is goals. If Pinto and Norris gave as much of a crap as him we would be much better off. Norris brings almost nothing outside of his shot.... if you are 4th in goal scoring for 8mill what are we doing

Norris has little value. That's the thing. Chabot has little value.

Options are Brady or Batherson, and Batherson return doesn't move the needle as much as Brady return.

Clearing norris cap space would be huge for us.

Norris is def not impossible to trade he has some value. Time for the GM to do his job

Trading Brady our leading goal scorer does not help us. Trading the guy making 8mill and is behind Gaudette in goal scoring when thats all you bring is def the move

I mean lots of people thought that his career was done, people are still skeptical if his shoulder holds up, he's clearly still not trusting of it.

Until he plays 2 or more healthy seasons what can you do.

Teams value centers a lot. Flames and Nashville both looking for a younger top 6 center. Make a deal to clear cap. See if you can get under some other bad contracts

I really like what Brady brings and can bring offensively and emotionally to this group.
I want to see Brady continue a 100% commitment to a 2 way game as the leader on this team. If he was just any player .. I would not care as much. His on ice play has to set an example . He has to be the heart and soul guy in a 200 foot game. If he cheats for offense or is lazy on back checks or slow changes when they have the puck .. those things set a poor example and do not inspire other players to do it right.

That's all ,, its not that I do not value his production and his superior abilities around the opponents net.. I do. For me that's not all it should be.

I'm surprised you think Tkachuk elevates other players. I watched the game last night. He was a recipient. He was the one being fed opportunities by others. He was the one cutting through open ice waiting for passes.

There's nothing wrong with being that guy when you have someone as talented as say McDavid or a more balanced and deeper roster like the Avalanche or Hurricanes or Panthers. But we don't have that so we don't win and we don't make the playoffs.

Maybe Jack Hughes is a better fit for Tkachuk but I have my doubts. And a 100 point Tkachuk just sounds like a team missing the playoffs. Tkachuk had loads of opportunities fed to him tonight. The team still lost and I didn't think they played all that poorly. Part of the problem was forcing through Tkachuk especially on the powerplays. Tkachuk got his points but the team lost. Edit: and let me be clear, I don't think Tkachuk is some massively selfish player here. I think the coaching staff especially on the powerplay was a bit of a let down. The Ducks gave us Tkachuk open off to the side and there were no cross-seam passes to get Tkachuk a better shot and nobody else was shooting. That's not on Tkachuk. That's on the coach and the other 4 players being unwilling to move around and shoot.

true the way these guys play is to make the guys who are the core of this team look good and have nice stats.

Chychrun, DBC, Talbot, (Ullmark?) etc etc all come and look bad, clearly can't jive with the established talent and leadership, leave and become good again.

weird.

The problem is none of these are all that related, but sure you can list them and create a narrative. And I’m not saying you specifically but in general it’s trying to find a trend where this isn’t one.

Chychrun - we had an excess of LD/money tied up in LD. If he’s a RD, he’s more than likely still on the roster.

DBC - I didn’t think he was bad. He helped our PP a lot especially since we were missing Norris. But he really also isn’t a play driver 5 on 5 which is probably the type of winger we actually need

Talbot - we all agree we were a mess defensively at that time

Ullmark - too early, but he was out with injury and was struggling upon return. Happens a lot. Hasn’t been bad for long enough for this to be a convo yet

The issue is moreso bringing in guys that don’t fill needs. So many guys look better or worse in different situations, I think all this suggests is that we targeted the wrong players.

it shouldn't be that bad though.

i mean we were one of the best team in the league with

Alfredsson
Hossa
Havlat

as our best forwards and all playing the same position.

difference imo is that all those players made their teammates better, distinct lack of that on this current team.

The difference is you're comparing 2 Hall of Fame level players in Alfredsson and Hossa to players who aren't Hall of Fame level players. Of course we were a significantly better team back then. Stutzle is the only guy on this team that realistically has the talent to carve out a Hall of Fame career, and he's only 22 and still learning.

meh turris, stone, spezza made their teammates better too.

but okay our guys aren't good enough to be in the top roles they are.

so what do we do? keep running the same top end?

There’s definitely a lot of “dislike” for the man all over social media.
And a lot of hate in here specifically. I don’t think some posters have anything to post other than their obsession with Brady.
His wife posted a photo of a latte with the caption "bless", I think he asked out to Seattle.
I appreciate the effort trying to lighten the mood.

The best stretch of hockey Norris, Batherson, Stützle, Pinto, Greig have ever played have all been with Brady on their line. He does make his teammates better.

Also I don’t think there are a ton of teams with more than one hall of famer on them. Did we know Alfie would be in the HOF when he was 25? I don’t know how this equates to not being good enough to be in the top roles they’re in. The bar isn’t the best player in Sens history or nothing.

Also lots of dislike for Green, Staois, Norris, Sanderson, Ullmark, Giroux, Perron, Amadio, Cousins, Greig, Hamonic, Kleven, JBD, Chabot, Pinto.

not sure if you noticed but things are NOT going well - 4th worst team in the NHL
Been like that for years

Ya we have 3 guys that should not be traded.
Brady, Timmy and Jake.

Jake needs to be better, Chabby has been the better D this year, between the 2.
Chabby +5, Jake -15.
Chabby 11 EVP, Jake 2.

Pinto, Norris and Greig with the worst plus minus. Stat is only good to compare amongst team mates, not other teams.

If we move Brady, we also become one of the softest teams, and get 2-3 quarters for a dollar. Funny how many fans in here like a charming soft team.

3 players should not be moved, ones listed above, the rest anything is possible.

I think it's obtuse to ignore the circumstances around Brady. Time is running out imo. Can't just force him to stay year after year after year. I think he might have one more in him after this one, but I'd be looking elsewhere if I were him and had half my career on a basement team.
