no coach is gonna win when their players and most of all if the team captain isn't serious about winning.

go look at that screenshot in the last page.

2-3 game in the last 5 minutes of the game when the team is fighting for their playoff lives.

and what does the captain do?

he's done this numerous times in the last month alone.

not only that but everyone is blaming greig for the too many men. but that is brady who instead of backhecking starts strolling to the bench and then changes his mind. the bench and the coaching staff was probably confused as to what the f*** brady was doing.

Brady isn't serious about winning.
I can almost guarantee Brady will “get it” once he’s shipped off to an organization where losing isn’t the norm.

If nothing else, bringing in a coach from a culture of winning would have been asset. At least there would be SOMETHING there, not DJ Smith 2.0.

The idea to hire him never made any sense. He could be guy, but it was such an unncessary gamble. Evason was by far the safer choice, and he’s doing pretty great things with a Columbus team that has half our talent.

Certainly wasn’t popular at the time. The expectations this season just so high and hopeful - but to be out of the race by game 23 , bottom of the standings now for multiple weeks, everyone promising playoffs, pundits even today saying Ottawa will Make the playoffs.

Just what a lame run, 6 weeks is all they give him. It’s like the team quit on him.

I actually feel bad for the guy, but I also kinda hated him, so it’s a weird feeling I have for Travis Green.

I think Green is a good coach. He’s just been put into a situation here in Ottawa where i think his players have ideas of what NHL hockey is, and it’s not what the coaching staff thinks NHL hockey is

Personally I'm less convinced of his ability to have success elsewhere unless he's the clear cut 3rd to 6th best forward on the team he goes to. Right now we have just Stutzle on his own as being clearly better than the rest so Tkachuk is in that 2nd spot.

That being said maybe a change of scenery where he's not a media darling, nor the captain would be enough of a culture shock for him to improve his game.

See, the problem is I don’t know about the bolded simply because I haven’t seen anything to indicate that.

Guys like Montgomery or Evason, we’ve see them go around and get more out of their teams than expected. There is literally nothing Green has done that would lead me to believe he can do such a thing. The underlying numbers boost we had is slowly fading and we haven’t “outplayed a team” since that Philly game.

The big thing we kept hearing about him was his focus on conditioning, well…how are we showing up against all these teams on back-to-back? What are we getting out of this “fitness”?

any team that hypes brady as its 1st line winger, franchise player, or team leader will suck and brady will struggle.

not because he is a bad player, but because this is the best league in the world and other teams roll out guys like Mackinnon, Kopitar, Crosby, Hughes, Bergeron, Chara, Alfredsson, Stone etc in those roles.

just on a different level.

I don't think it's about where he positions in the on ice ability, I think it is about joining a team that has a professional environment with a proper veteran presence for the first time in his career.

I mean, you can argue that he sort of has that this year with some of the additions they made this offseason, but I don't think adding Perron and Jensen is the same thing as going somewhere like Tampa or Vegas where their entire core is 28+ and have been together for 5-10 years.

I think we saw a team that was ready to go at the start of the season even though they were losing games they should have won we thought they’d figure it out, I think the league over the last 6 weeks is faster and more organized and the Sens just don’t hit the blue line with any speed.

I think the team is fit, they are just slow. They can’t generate offence, they can’t get speed where they need it and it shows.

On the PP we see the skill of this group, but 5 on 5 it’s just not good enough, the team standard is to low for sustained winning hockey, not fast enough.

They are coming off must win games and they got 11 and 22 shots. Brutal. Embarrassing.
