Marginal penalty but keep ranting. But the terrible giveaways tonight by Norris and Giroux that lead directly to goals are OK I guess.
Again, I point to this being the thread specifically made to discuss Brady Tkachuck. Did Giroux or Norris change their names and no one told me?

Brady needs to learn how to be a better leader and understand when the team needs to be dragged into the fight and when it needs a calm steady presence. Sometimes, it seems like he thinks being a leader is the same as being the hero. Sometimes, that works. Think back to that Rangers game where he fought Trouba, and had a hat trick OT winner.

Sometimes, it has the opposite effect, like last night. He took a stupid roughing in the 1st and a pointless fight in the 3rd. The team doesn't need dragging into the fight right now. Effort is not the problem. The team is rattled. They need a calm steady presence, and to stick to the game plan with a hard and disciplined effort. These shenanigans only rattles the team more.
I think he's learning. He's also a pretty young player and captain.

Brady is a smart kid. But it's definitely taking him an usually long time to have his "Steve Yzerman" transition into a complete player. And fans should be frustrated with it, especially considering the league these days has a much younger UFA age than when Stevie was around. You've got to get your shit together and provide that value a lot earlier in your career these days. Salary caps and build/retool/dismantle cycles are short. For most clubs.

It took Steve Yzerman himself an unusually long time also. He didn't become the player you're thinking about until he was into his 30s. Good thing Detroit didn't give up on him.
Has the coach changed? Yes
Has the GM changed? Yes
Has the owner changed? Yes
Has the supporting cast changed? Yes
Has the goaltender been changed multiple times? Yes
Have people been added and subtracted to this team's core? Yes.

Has the captain been changed? No

It's inexplicable why we can't seem to make the playoffs. Definitely has nothing to do with our captain. Must be all those other people we've already swapped out several times.
Hilarious. Brady is responsible for Korpisalo's terrible save % and the reason Ullmark is sporting a sparkling 0.881 this year. He's also responsible for DJ's coaching and Dorion's genius.

Turns out was never any of those things. Only Brady.

I get it, you're one of those that waits around for one mistake and then goes 'See??!!'

Bet you were one of those that wanted Alfie traded back in the day too.

He is:

Top 30 in pts,
Top 20 in goals,
3rd in hits,
2nd in shots,
1st in PIMs.

There's certainly some room for growth on the defensive side, and you occasionally need to reign in the emotions, but for better or worse, this is a guy that has an impact on every game he plays.

Feels like there was a power struggle between Green and Brady last week, and Green won.

Brady abandoned Green’s culture and tried to do it himself., and that’s what we saw this week.

Last night, I think we saw Brady rededicate himself to sticking with it.

Hopefully it’s a massive turning point, Bruce Garrioche really wants to write the “Brady’s come to Jesus moment like Yzerman did in Detroit and Scotty Bowman”

Stuztle is a player. Super impressed with him. I think he’s always stuck with it, and it shows, he is our best player and it’s not by accident, it’s because he’s disciplined

lol
It took Yzerman 13 years to have his “Yzerman” transition. He Was literally 31, Brady is 25.

Brady has been for the most part surrounded by even younger players or garbage players, with a garbage coach, a garbage GM, and a garbage owner.
If they had a goalie who could reasonably stop a puck over .900 this conversation wouldnt exist.
