Question: if ktachuk sits the year, is he still 4 yrs away from ufa next summer? Or does the year get used up and he’s 3 more years until ufa from next summer?

The problem with Tkachuk is that he is one of a kind. And he knows it. Big, mean , productive power forward with charisma. The return should be more than that.

He needs to produce a lot more to command the money he's asking for. 8M + is a lot for a 50 point player who hits a lot.

The Maple Leafs haven't won a playoff series since 2004. The Sens were in the conference finals in 2017.
And your point is what? Montreal was in the Cup finals last year. Does that mean they're better than the penguins this year? Take a walk

I'm going to chime in here (despite no one telling me to feel free to) to say that this isn't a thread about the Leafs.

I also think that the Sens camp will cave in the next week or two and he gets a high AAV bridge.

it's clear he wants out, or his family and management team wants out. If he's not willing to go 8, it's more than wanting to profit off an increasing cap, it's because he's seen
how Melnick runs the sens and his lack of commitment to winning.
He wants the bridge so he has the option to walk away

This will end when melnyuk gives the “ok” to Dorian on a 1-3 yr deal, or ktachuk agrees to a compromise on a 6 yr deal. There is almost no scenario ktachuk signs a 7/8 yr deal, like ever, he would rather sit the year.

No they wouldn't
That would be the guy

Their owner and GM know they are on the up and up, and not interested in back tracking for 4 quarters instead of a dollar in the youngest Hughes.

You know your opinion isn't a fact, right?

He doesn't want out. All reports (incluing Friedman) have basically said he loves the group here, but that doesn't mean he's not weary of Melnyk. I don't blame him for wanting a bridge deal to see if Melnyk actually puts his money where his mouth is.

The Tkachuks also know the cap is going to be much higher in 3 years and they're not exactly known for leaving pennies on the table.

You’ll get an established NHL young-star for some combination of B grade prospects
It is clear Tkachuk would return L. Hughes if the Devils showed interest. The devils would probably add to be honest.
It would be Holtz+ Or Hughes
