Brad Treliving is doing a great job.

?????

Don’t great teams also have great goaltending?

Didn’t Carey Price carry the Habs to Stanley Cup in the COVID Season?

How was the goaltending for the Panthers when they won last year? Substandard and weak?

Martin Brodeur? Patrick Roy?

Aren’t good teams supposed to have good goaltending to help their teams win?

Pretty sure that stellar goaltending is an absolute must for any team to be a legitimate Stanley Cup contender, so why should the Leafs be any different?

It’s a hockey fundamental that you build your team from the net out, and that’s what Treliving is doing.

Oilers almost won with Skinner.

Colorado was the most dominant team of the last 10 years with .900 goaltending.

It is just wrong that you need stellar goaltending, it is not required, but obviously, it helps.

If he was making a legitimate post and not trolling, I’d love to hear from him who of the “real” contenders in this years playoffs could win the Stanley Cup with average goaltending.

Do any of the teams in playoffs have average goaltending? I know Ullmark is having a tough go, but he was solid in season and a significant reason why the Sens qualified.

Would they be here if he posted an average GAA during the season?

Would love to know the answer but, well, you know…..

Do people think Edmonton is not a legit contender?

I wouldn't say Blackwood is a stud, so Colorado must be out.

Kuemper is hot and cold, LA is out.

Who else?

Reactions: leafs in five
Last year I would have agreed, because he fought and was physical and did his job, he did what he was paid to do.

This year he didn't do his job.

I want the best lineup on the ice and that doesn't include Ryan Reaves
I want the best lineup on the ice and it definitely includes Ryan Reeves. Obviously, Robertson is out already, so who comes out is the question.

Maybe wait until the team actually beats a contender or 2 before celebrating. Beating Ottawa is NOT impressive. Very weak team with no star talent. The leafs playoff history would be very different had they played wildcard teams.

So no, Brad hasn't accomplished anything more than Dubas.
Losing matters also.

Remember when we lost to CBJ in the play-in round in best of 5 series, and in the all Canadian Div after winning it and up 3 games to 1 lost to Montreal?

In 2019-20 the NHL invented a +24 team playing in format where Leafs didn't even qualify for the final 16 after losing to Columbus one of the lowest scoring teams in the league, who in a regular format of 16 playoff teams wouldn't have qualified to compete.

Dubas embarrassed Leaf Nation in epic fashion by losing a pair of series to 2 teams that wouldn't even have qualified for the playoffs. Montreal only made the playoffs because of Covid new closed divisions for rounds #1 and #2 forced Canadiens into the playoffs.

Despite finishing +18 points higher in the standings and all 7 games played at ACC as home games for the Leafs and being up 3-1 after 4 still found a way to lose under Dubas built team including Keefe coaching.

These 2 playoff results make Dubas one of the worst GMs in the entire NHL never mind just screwing over the Leaf Nation fans through his gross incompetence, and leaving a life-long bad taste & hard to forget and forgive.

What happened in Ontario that caused the love for that team out east? A lot on this board love them, but I forgot about the CN Tower being lit up.

Thanks for reminding me of the biggest embarrassment for this city. CN Tower lit up in Habs colours. f***ing humiliating. That loss is still so unforgivable.

I live out west in Beautiful BC, but seeing the CN Tower lit up in Habs colours by Molson to troll the Leafs in hogtown after an epic collapse being up 3-1 sets my blood to boiling temperature.

The fact I knew from day #1 that Dubas was a clueless gluebag, that should never have been hired to destroy my beloved Leafs only makes things worse.

Having a real GM and real coach now as Leafs upgraded from incompetent Soo OHL management, will hopefully over time and success now help heal old wounds.

Hey maybe after we eliminate Sens we can ask Canada's capital city Ottawa to not only fly the Canadian Flag but also the Leafs flag proudly. :wg:

Ill leave you to your obtuse perspective, maybe go look that up lol.

Nice try Skippy, but 'undermining' is defined as:
1. Destroy property or hinder normal operations;
2. Hollow out as if making a cave or opening.

So to use those definitions, your previous post would read either "[e]very team uses analytics as a tool, no team relys on them to form a complete picture. There's a stat for everything, so anyone can cobble together what they want. We're up 3 zip and these clowns are still destroying property or hindering normal operations" or "[e]very team uses analytics as a tool, no team relys on them to form a complete picture. There's a stat for everything, so anyone can cobble together what they want. We're up 3 zip and these clowns are still hollowing out as if making a cave or opening."

And I'll leave aside your other spelling and grammatical errors in that post, except to say that they demonstrate a distinct lack of basic literacy.

You can keep trying to defend your lack of language skills but try it with someone else, I'm an English professor and I can do this all day.

I just gave the definition lol. Stop while you already lost skipper. Bye.

I'll leave you to your obtuse perpective.

noun
  1. the action or process of lessening the effectiveness, power, or ability of someone or something, especially gradually or insidiously.

So using your Google definition, your previous post would read "Every team uses analytics as a tool, no team relys on them to form a complete picture. There's a stat for everything, so anyone can cobble together what they want. We're up 3 zip and these clowns are still lessening the effectiveness, power, or ability of someone or something, especially gradually or insidiously."

Oh yeah, that makes perfect sense.

The reality is that you meant to say 'underwhelming' or, more likely, 'underperforming' but didn't have the language skills to do so and are now digging in in a vain attempt to make it seem as if you used the correct term. Trust me, you didn't.

I didn't even read that diatribe lol.
