By month, Richards stat lines are:
Jan: 7 games, 2 goals, 4 assists, plus 6 rating, 21:16 per game
Feb: 12 games, 0 goals, 7 assists, minus 5 rating. 19:10 per game
March: 10 games: 2 goals, 1 assist, minus 2 rating. 19:04 per game.
His assist on Sunday was his first point in seven games.
In the NY Post, Richards told Larry Brooks that he has never had an experience like this before in his NHL career and that it is really taking a toll on him.
Brooks writes “The mind is connected to the legs, the legs are connected to the hands, and neither the legs nor the hands have been able to produce at anything resembling a satisfactory rate.â€
Richards said that he understands that the responsibility falls on his shoulders, “when you’re an offensive guy, you have to produce†and he knows he can do more than he has been.
A scout told Craig Custance, at ESPN Insider, that Richards’ “legs have left him.â€
