How has Marchand been this year? How much has he fallen off?

Can he play RW also?
He's basically on pace to score the same amount of points he has the last two years and thats been playing with 3-4th liners. He's lost a step or two speed wise but iMO still has elite hands, skill and his hockey IQ is way off the charts and he still has the dog on a bone attitude when he's chasing the puck. Can he play his off wing? Im sure he could but off hand I don't ever remember seeing him over there although when Debrusk was on his line with him and Bergy, Marchy ended up there often.lol

Why what/who you offering ? :)

Great complementary player. Occasionally attempts to put the team on his back but it lasts roughly a half shift. The low fuel warning light is shining bright with him.

I see no reason why he cant play RW. He's much more of a rover and, still has a great back foot wrister, and still works well along the boards.

If the Oilers were to add the Bruins captain to the lineup, it would cost the team a pretty penny.

That being some of the Oilers' top prospects, such as Sam O'Reilly, and Maxim Berezkin along with a 202 first-round pick.

Insider David Pagnotta is now reporting that a big turn of events has surfaced regarding the Bruins trading Brad Marchand.

Despite all the trade rumours, Pagnotta reported that the Bruins would consider signing Brad Marchand to a multi-year contract extension.

He also reported that if the Boston Bruins were to trade him, that it would take a significant return for them to complete a deal.

You really want to waste Pastrnak's next 5 seasons (at least)?
QBF wanted a full rebuild in summer of 22

They aren’t rebuilding

This is so freaking silly

Btw do you like Cheevers ? He lived a couple miles from my house in Danvers - my parents would drop my sister off to baby sit their kids and bring his wife Betty to the game. Gerry would either bring her home after or in the morning before school

Betty passed away a few years ago and was one of my mom’s best Friends. She was a beautiful on the outside as in. Gerry was awesome - funny as anyone. Would jump in our home made street hockey net (with chicken wire) and try and stop tennis balls from the kids

Great time to be alive and born into right family lol

Savoie, 1st, Akey/2nd/?

I think you’re right there in reason in what it’ll take. I myself don’t know much about savioe other than he was originally a first rounder of the Sabres. But I’m sure Sweeney would be looking for near NHL ready prospects and a first. All depending on the caliber of prospect/s.

I actually think if they lose Saturday to Vegas he’s as good as gone and the price will go up once he plays in the 4nations, at least I’m hoping only because March always seems to pick his game up in these events.

Really can’t wait to see him actually playing with top level players.

Trade him, get some prospects/picks and re-sign him in the summer!

Trading Marchand would be tricky since he likely wants to be a start to finish Bruins and is only chasing a Cup here

he’s signing an extension here it’s just would he be willing to go play 5+ weeks somewhere else

I've been always a big fan. It's good to know his game hasn't dropped off that much.

heart and sole guy in the playoffs. Seeing him crying after losing....

If Brad wants a shot at the Cup then I say you give him the chance. Pick up some prospects and drafts. Have to be prepared if the answer is yes, that he might like the new digs. Risk you take.

Regardles, we need to get creative somehow. Here's how a group of hockey sites rank Boston in terms of prospect pool:

TSN: 30
Hockey Writers: 31
Bleacher: 32
Athletic: 30
Daily Faceoff: 31

I know that all of these sites have pros and cons. However, even if you run into 5 blatant assholes -- if they ALL think you are an asshole as well? Probably some fire where that smoke is coming from.

I wonder if hanging with his buddy McKinnon over the course of the next couple of weeks could help change his mind or McDavid for that matter. It’ll be interesting to see who he plays with.

I’d think he’d start out with Crosby and McKinnon forming the Halifax line and
I’m sure McKinnon would love him after losing his buddy Rantanen.

I’d be all for Colorado, Vegas, Edmonton, heck Toronto lol

Colorado makes a lot of sense

Flip back what you get from Marchand plus Bostons first for Necas on July 1

Basically you loan Marchand + 2025 first for Necas

I think it would be perfect Marchand (The Villain) coming back to Boston , if their were able to trade him for assets. Add to the hate. lol

There is just no way Toronto trades for Marchand. I say that because no amount of convincing could make them believe he's not just a plant aimed at screwing them over.

OT in G7 of SCF........

"Marchand dekes, let's a rocket go, and HE SCORES!!! Leafs win, Leafs win the Cup!!!!!"

"Er, Dave???? That was an own goal you know?"

"Oh f*** Me"

I'm not as confident as you are that Marchand would re-sign with Boston if we traded him at the deadline. I'd be fine with it, provided the money and term was equitable. I just can't remember a player ever doing that, especially when they'd presumably be moving away from a playoff team, back to a team in a rebuild/retool (whatever you want to call it).

My question is this: If the likelihood of Marchand NOT coming back is a real possibility if he's traded. Do you still make the trade? If its me, the answer is still YES.

I also think the return you would get for him in a trade, is directly correlated to the probability of a team being able to extend him.

If he’s not coming back you deal him for a bundle

Trade him if that's best for the Bruins and the teams future.

Brads feelings are irrelevant. This franchise needs players going forward, there is nothing coming that will improve this mess as of today.

Get some second rounders and add them to our first to move into the top 5. Add Carlo, everyone craves a 6-5 right shooting dman regardless of how useless they are.
