Took me forever to like him, and even longer to appreciate him. He is a flat out superstar in this league now. I always questioned his commitment after some of his comments over the years but this guy is the ****.

I'd like to see the winner of tomorrow's Matthews vs Marchand 'this is for all the marbles - err, player of the week' get to be the face of a new NHL logo with their likeness

I wish I could figure out how to get their faces matched up like two boxers - Marchand of course starring into Matthews chest

I love the kid and even though it is good he has calmed down some I hope he doesn't lose all of his feisty ways !

DI-****IN-TTO. Have always loved Bradley and it's been a treat watching him grow as a player/person/teammate. Bergeron has been a massive influence on him and you can flat out see it in how far he has come since breaking into the league. No one is going to out work that guy. I still want the nasty **** disturber as well (within reason).

I can remember in the early days...every game Bergy would grab Brad by the back of the jersey and say "just STOP" when Brad was annoying someone.

My favorite Marchy moment from last season was a game vs the Flyers....

Giroux was hacking at Bergy like he always does...Brad went by Giroux at the end of a shift and ran the blade of his stick along Claude G. (not to hurt him just to let him know that Brad sees what he is doing to Bergy) . One of the refs called Brad over right in front of us to speak to Brad....Brad looked right at the ref and said "BITE ME" . We loved it...even the ref laughed

Brad might be one of those forwards that peak later. I am glad we got him signed before he had multiple 30 goal seasons

Marchand has reached the level to where he is a threat every single shift he is on the ice. Couldn't say that before. Last season you could see him getting to that point finally. He may or may not reach last year's goal totals, but regardless of that he is now playing with complete confidence and is a second ahead of everyone else most every shift. He has always shown signs of incredible skill. Now he has his head in the right place and has matured over the past couple years. If what we saw last season, during the World Cup, and last night is the Marchand to come then, yeah, a superstar has landed.

I told my buddy a few days ago that Brad Marchand would reach 70 points. $100 on this one, lets hope he does!

Yep. Couldn't complain about him if I wanted to now. He's turned into an incredible player.

I don't think there is any danger of Marchy losing the pest side of his game. Much like with Larry Bird, he needs some of that trash talk to keep him going. He just picks his spots his better now than in the past.

As for Bergy being a massive influence, no question. Also, cannot leave out the influence of Z on Marchy in helping him grow up and play smarter. There have been countless times where Z has visibly gone over to Brad and given him advice on how to handle himself.

Continue the awesomeness.

He was on another level last night.

Even if it was a team that was pretty much full opening night roster last week for a preseason game and our youngins beat them. Brad is getting better and better

What a month for Marchy! First, a virtual MVP in the World Cup; then signing a long term contract; then opening the season in grand fashion with 5 points. He's arrived, and the pundits are starting to recognize it.

There is a poll on the main board...

Who is better ? Max P from the Habs or our own Brad. Brad is winning so far;)

Good to see he is winning, but considering the main board is nothing but teenage Leafs and Habs fans, a poll on who is better there is like polling the Teen Choice Awards for what is a better movie, The Godfather or The Fast and the Furious.

Over the past two years, 63 has become one of those few players that always looks to score (be it him or a linemate). Where others dump it in, tie it up along the board, come over the blue line and hang and wait for something to develop, he makes stuff happen.

Last night was unreal...shift after shift..attacking, creating, etc.

The WCOH was the best thing that could have happened to Marchand. He's way ahead of everyone else right now mentally and conditioning-wise. PPG season is not out of the question.
