The ref acted quick to stop it. It's hard to really tell if the intention was to choke him or just troll him. I'm not sure the ref knew either based on how it was handled.

I imagine it is fairly obvious to everyone that there was no literal intent to choke him.....

But the bottom line is parts of society these days are still wrapped up in "optics" (and to me optics are important - or used to be). But the sad update for all of us is that optics don't matter any more.

Players get their brains addled all the time but too often the League focuses on "shouldn't do that -- what's next hair pulling?"

Not to get political, but hard to give a shit about minor things when major things don't matter anymore.
