I'm just curious what interest there would be in these Bruins that could be made available at the deadline and some that for sure will be if we sell which again we should. Prospects and picks are of most interest. We could take on an expiring contract to help increase returns. Retention would only be on expiring deals.

Carlo MTC 8 team list RD Big stay at home d man locked up for two more years at 4.1

Coyle C NMC so hard to do but assume he agrees. Solid 2/3 c who has played up and down the lineup for us. One more season at 5.25

Frederic C third line center not having as strong a season as last year but on an expiring contract at 2.3

Brazeau Big strong bottom line rw who is a strong net front player who's having a season. Minimum contract ufa to be. Would like him back

Koepke/Wotherspon are just depth pieces but decent ones on expiring deals.

Then there's Marchand. I can only see him moved if he asked management to get him a shot at a cup and hopefully comes back in the off season.

Coyle has an NMC but not full trade protection, only an 8 team no trade list. So hes very movable if the bruins actually go this route.

I think prices are going to be low this year with so many tweener teams that can make the playoffs, but who won’t be buying rentals. There aren’t a ton of contenders who are suitors, and honestly, those aren’t attractive rentals I see. I highly doubt Marchand moves. Maybe a mid rounder for Frederic, and late rounders for the rest of the rentals, but the longer contracts probably aren’t going to move either.

They need to retool and players that should be available are all their UFAs and RFAs except for Lohrei and Beecher, Marchand is the guy who is the more valuable and need to trade him and if he want to be back bring him cheap in july

Coyle is definitely not a 2C on any contending team. He’s a 5.25M third liner. They’ll be paying teams to take him.
He had 60 points last year and got selke votes as well. Has had a worse year offensively, but he is incredibly important to the Bruins defensively. They shouldn’t move him.

I mean that cuts both ways. Less teams selling. Don’t think your read is right.

I think Boston should listen on Morgan Geekie as well. I think he's great and would love to extend him but he's definitely worth throwing out there. 18 goals this year and a great swiss army knife that can play all 3 positions. Pending RFA so whoever trades for him would have team control.

Calling Coyle a 2C is generous. He's a 3C on a contending team and Boston would likely have to retain to make a deal work.

Gotta think Freddy could squeeze a first, could be a bidding war for him. He has everything you want for the playoffs

Coyle is also a pretty nice piece for a playoff run, but has that extra year

Carlo, would love for him to be moved.

Bruins are pretty trash this year, but any of those guys are a very nice add for a team wanting to go on a serious run

...trash Carlo, then pump his tires with last sentence...sounds like Neely-run team... :biglaugh:

What's weird is that these guys are actually a collection of hard-nosed, valuable all-round playoff type players on reasonable contracts, but the Bruins suck.

I must have missed the part where he trashed him? I think we'd all love for him to be moved, mainly due to his contract and we're probably going into a rebuild so he'll be fairly useless to us. It was the same with Ray Bourque back in the day

Dream on.

I’m not even sure where you even come up with “Fred has everything you want for the playoffs”. He’s been close to useless in almost all of his 22 playoff games.

Because he can fight? Never happens in the playoffs. Because he can be physical? Yeah…maybe…if you’re lucky. Because he can put up points? 5 points in 22 playoff games. Yes, “everything you want”.

He looks completely out of his element in the playoffs every year. Stop defining him by what you want him to be and look at what he actually is. A guy with a decent highlight tape that consistently falls short.

It does seem like they have a lot of guys who teams looking for a boost in the playoffs would be very interested in. I guess it's a matter of which ones do the Bruins want to keep around and who they are willing to move (and to whom).

...wanting to get rid of a 28 year old RD throws up red flags, does it not??...the Bourque situation is not even remotely the same...

You're 100% right. He's been useless.

With that said, if this "built for the playoffs" narrative sticks and any GM believes it then better for us. Maybe he could do better elsewhere.

They won’t be paying anyone to take him. He was a 1/2 in our team last year lol. A playoff team. He’s better suited lower down but can play up which is what I was saying and is very valuable. I suppose they could do a light retention to improve the return but to say we’d have to pay to move him is ridiculous.
