I guess I dont watch Barkov enough but Im pretty surprised how little impact he has had. Is he this passive in regular season and still produces but it doesnt work in playoffs? I guess I kind of assumed he was top 2 way C just below Mac/ Matthews tier.
Yeah pretty stunning especially considering the reigning 5 time Selke winner hasn't even played a shift this series.

I really hope that the Boston Bruins will close this series against this Florida Mouthpiece on next Wednesday....

Boston has been better, poised and consistent. 3-1 seems about right from what I've seen,
Outside of game 2 where they slipped up a bit in the 3rd, they look like a well oiled machine while Florida is sloppy and can't take advantage on special teams.

Boston have a decent talent advantage (especially in goal and in the D corps) across the board. Florida have been game enough to try and mix it up with agitating play but it hans't been enough and Bruins reman laser focused.

Tkachuk has been a bright light for Florida - you can feel him straining every sinew to claw Florida back into the series. He's a definite rat but every team needs 1 or 2 of those and I don't blame him for trying.

Barkov has been MIA and his effort levels unacceptable - heavy forecheck obviously isn't his game but he could definitely be doing a LOT more to chase pucks and make energy plays; instead that mainly falls to Tkachuk.

Bruins have created way more high danger chances and the goals that the Panthers have scored have been mostly greasy (like Tkchuck's goal yesterday) - the Boston D corps is the strongest in the playoffs and they have largely snuffed out the Florida attack.

Hall is enjoying his time being a featured forward - he brings a directness than can sometimes be lacking in the Bruins offensive play - he was also indirectly involved in bringing on board Bertuzzi who has been amazing this series.

Hopefully the B's finish this one in 5 and get a bit of a break to concentrate on re-integrating Bergy and Krejci back into the line up.

Florida is a damn fine team.

But Boston is a historic team. A Cup contender even when missing players.

Who is the Bruins MVP so far, Bs fans? Hall’s been fantastic. Same with Bertuzzi. Orlov and Marchand have been steady. Ullmark solid. I could go on.

Yes there is. Maybe not on the scale of South Florida but there are a ton of transplants here, often because of the schooling; there are so many NY/NJ/CT kids going to colleges here that it creates a nuclear firestorm of traffic on I-84 during holiday season.

I myself am a transplant to the Boston area; moved here from the 305 in 2010. In support of your point: Being born and raised in upstate NY, I will never, ever, EVER cheer for the Bruins or Pats for any reason whatsoever.
Oh, how we mourn this. Keeps so many up late at night. :sarcasm:

Think your list is correct. Tough to name just 1. Coyle and McAvoy (as always) have quietly been great as well.

I would say Marchand, outside the stats, he's really stepped up and filled the leadership role with Bergeron out

Tkachuk? Effective, their best player, dirty, cowardly, and a costly penalty.

So he’s been himself.
Jesus the MT slander is just insane. He is playing on the edge no doubt. He’s literally the only one showing up every game and trying for the panthers. Obviously emotions are running high when that team plays dead. But get a grip my fellow bruin fans…….

If Florida got something out of Barkov this would be much closer than it looks. Hell, it already is. The three games Boston won i never really felt comfortable until the very end. Neither team has been particularly good but Boston just has far more depth to survive some lean efforts

Bennett checking Hathaways prostate while he's face down on the ice

That was disappointing from Bennett. He's been one of the reliable players for Florida since he returned from injury and he played hard. Jabbing a guy there who can't see you is the height of cowardice.

I'm surprised we haven't had any proper fights yet - this series needs a couple of good fights (ideally not our goaltender tho!) to clear the air otherwise we'll be straying closer and closer to outright dangerous plays (which I really can't recall any happening yet).

People have been saying he is the next Bergeron including Bruins fans. I don't see it.
I don't think many Bruins fans will share that opinion once this series is done. He doesn't have the work ethic, leadership skills of even a Bergeron-lite as skiled a skater as he is. He reminds me of a slightly more invisible Matthews.

at this point? i look past the points and say Marchand, he's been a spark in each game even when the bruins are floating, if not him Bert has been making plays constantly. There really hasn't been one standout though, that's essentially the Bruins season, yes Pasta was above and beyond past everyone else points wise, but they had 40 and 50 Point players up and down the lineup.

I think McAvoy and Marchand have absolutely been the trend setters - they've played hard and fair (you could make a highlights reel of McAvoy's hits from just this series) and haven't been baited into any silly stuff with the Florida agitators.

Marchand is still giving the puck away more than i'd expect - routine passes off the mark but his effort is unmatched - his goal yesterday was a great mixture of savvy and bloodymindedness.
Lindolm looked great again after a weak 1st game and Orlov is such a great transition guy who brings legit defensive qualities to the table. To have Brandon Carlo as your #4 D-man is quite the luxury.
