So there's some rumors about Vancouver looking for a LW and they may have to give Tanev. Personally I think it would be stupid to trade away Tanev but is

Chris Tanev for Brad Marchand

A good start to give offense to the Canucks and will help the Bruins on the blue line. I think picks and rookies would likely be included in the deal but I'm not sure what to add on either side.

If we are trading Tanev it isn't for a 28 yr old winger.

As I said I expect picks or prospects to be included. I'm not sure what Vancouver wants and what Boston is willing to give up though.

Not trading Tanev for that lol. Marchand would be hated in Vancouver.

So Marchand would be hated but you guys were drooling over the possibility of Lucic coming to Vancouver... Hmm something's not right here

Literally the only person drooling over Lucic was Jim Benning. The entirety of HFVancouver was terrified of signing Lucic.

I think I speak for most when I say we all laughed when Edmonton signed him to that awful boat anchor contract.

Marchand would instantly be a dissapoinment in Vancouver. Look who he got to play with in Boston over the last few years

Krejci, Bergeron, erikkson, Lucic etc

Who would he play with on the 2nd line in Vancouver? Sutter and Hansen?

Ridiculous proposal

Marchand would more likely gain a lot more fans in Vancouver:laugh:.

Marchand holds more value than Tanev in a vacuum but taking into consideration contracts and team needs hard to see why either team does this.

Yea all teams hate high scoring wingers that can kill penalties and are reliable defensively and are agitators.

Brad Marchand is probably the dirtiest player in the game, and some of his dirtiest plays were against the Canucks. The majority of the fan base wouldn't support trading for him even though he's a good player -- there's just too much of a bad history b/w him & past/present core players.

vancouver fans like tanev alot more than i do... that said im not very excited about extending an undersized agitator 6-7 years. dustin brown and ryan callahan and brenden morrow are just the most recent examples that show what happens to guys like marchand when they lose a step.

its a 50-50 reaction for me. if marchand had 3 years on his contract id NEVER in a billion years say ok to this deal...

but at 6-7 years i fear the future.

all in all if we deal marchand, id hope for something better than tanev.

maybe eat half of charas deal and package these 2... its almost like playing king maker. chara and marchand at an 8 mill cap hit would be a huge boost for any contending team

There is no way the Bruins are Trading Marchand who is capable of 40 goals, plays great two way hockey, excellent PK guy for Tanev, if the B's traded him for a D, it would have to be someone a lot better than Tanev.

Value might be close in a vacuum but based on contract status Tanev is a significantly more valuable asset

Check the date on those vids, 4 and 5 years old, there are a lot dirtier players in the game and after Benn, Marchand was the 2nd highest scoring Canadian albeit without powerplay time. That said no way I would trade him for Tanev.

Is hated. Would continue to be hated. Would probably have to hire security to stop every suit he owns from becoming beer coloured

As much as Lucic is hated by some and disliked by plenty, he is a Vancouver kid, played junior here and has family and friends here. Marchand, not so much.
