Rightly or wrongly Sens management view(ed) Pinto as borderline untouchable as recently as 2.5 months ago. Last summer they offered him 6,7 and 8 years deals because they view him as part of the core of this team and think he's part of the solution here.

Despite the rough start to this season, he's not being moved for a 3rd line UFA to be, even one as good as Frederic.

take into account fredric currently has better career numbers with an average of 4 minutes less per night than pinto.

At Pinto's age Frederic had a career high of 18 points.
Pinto also had more goals in his true rookie season than Frederic has ever reached.

I'm not discounting Frederic at all here, I love the player and have plenty of posts from the last 2 years wanting him in Ottawa. Pinto has some more room to develop and Sens management presumably sees more in him than the player he's been this season. "Better career numbers" is also a bit misleading because it doesn't take into account Pinto scoring at a higher PPG pace, he's just dealt with injuries and suspension.

Hahah I’m a bruins fan and this is laughable. Most of us would ship TF out for a bag of peanuts. He has been that bad this year.
Not most my friend, 35 goals previous two years plus 70 points and over 300 hits, no real PP time. I am not saying he is setting the world on fire , but be careful what you wish for. yes I would move him for the right price, but I suggest that the Bruins, be careful.

Lmao, funniest thing I read today, even Bruins fan above is laughing ,
Take a minute and ponder why Ottawa hasn’t given Shane Pinto a long term extension he was seeking, if your looking at stats then I could see how you might believe Pinto is the better player, but I’ll take Frederic’s game any day over Pinto.

Also Pinto isn’t an upgrade over Elias Lindholm, Pavel Zacha or Charlie Coyle so why would Boston move out Frederic‘s physical game with secondary scoring for a 3rd line center that has struggle to score since his breakout season 2 seasons ago.

No long term when you only play a half a season, need to see full seasons.
Didn’t have cap space last year for long term.

I honestly thought you’d know what a cap is, but I was wrong.

I mean Pinto hasn’t been any better for Ottawa since returning from injury.

I watch Sens games and don’t see or hear much from Pinto with the exception of those two games where he centered the 1st line but was invisible and was terrible defensively and only got more shifts because Green thought it was a good idea to let Shane Pinto center the 1st line.

one for one? Sure. Or take Morgan Geekie. Either way.

Not sure why Ottawa would have any interest in this right now though. Frederic is merely a soft shell of an NHL player right now

Ottawa had the chance to sign Pinto long term in July but only chose to bridge him for 2 seasons, doesn’t say much for confidence in Shane, I don’t much care about the cap just seeing what I’m watching from Ottawa’s games and Pinto’s non-performance thus far.

Ottawa spent money on Perron, Amadio, Cousins, traded for Jensen and even Boston’s starter Ullmark, which they signed to a ridiculous extension, and are still at the bottom of the Atlantic division, while keeping Pinto on a bridge to move when everything goes awry again which shouldn’t be too much longer. I feel bad for Sens fans I really do but I’m not on terms with them and this is why, it’s been years. YEARS…
