Seems like a guy that should have stuck as a 4th line C. Strong defensive game, veteran presence, limited minutes. Matt Cullen style. Oh well.

Even with the two Cups, this is still one of my favourite playoff moments ever. I was sure he was going to be a superstar during that run. Then he broke his wrist in the Finals and was never the same player again.

Still a really good career for an undersized, undrafted player if this is it.

I'd bring him back to TB. Minimum contract, and a chance he knows Cooper and the system well enough that he can beat out Atkinson et al for a spot. He had a real impact in the second cup run. Might be another goal or two to squeeze there. And there's no real risk. Let him retire a Bolt.

It’s probably not about the money for him. He’s made good coin as an NHLer.

They likely agreed when he signed that if it didn’t work out then a mutual termination instead of being sent to the AHL.

Why not do it after he clears waivers then? Let him see if someone wants him

Some admin on eliteprospects really doesnt like him or something? Shows his career stats as 4 games in 07-08 memorial cup 0+0 only. Well damn i thought he also played in the NHL but guess not.

Can teams just fire players like this? I always thought the CBA existed to protect players from being "fired" like this unless there was some form of breach. Like why isn't this a buyout?

These are mutual agreements. Players and teams can void contracts. Berglund did it

Always liked him even though he put a dagger through my heart in 2015 because I always root for undersized/undrafted players (especially from the WHL)

Always thought it was cool he played for his hometown in Spokane too

Sucks to see him go out like this, although I doubt he's too bothered. Hope he signs a 1-day contract with the Bolts or something if he can so he can retire there.

He had a great run for an undersized, undrafted player.

Why do some posters insist on shitting on a guy as his skills fade and his career finishes?
