Yes, on a one day contractWould the Bolts bring him back?
Even with the two Cups, this is still one of my favourite playoff moments ever. I was sure he was going to be a superstar during that run. Then he broke his wrist in the Finals and was never the same player again.
Still a really good career for an undersized, undrafted player if this is it.
It’s probably not about the money for him. He’s made good coin as an NHLer.
They likely agreed when he signed that if it didn’t work out then a mutual termination instead of being sent to the AHL.
Why not do it after he clears waivers then? Let him see if someone wants him
Can teams just fire players like this? I always thought the CBA existed to protect players from being "fired" like this unless there was some form of breach. Like why isn't this a buyout?
Crazy idea but perhaps more than one family with the last name Johnson decided to name their kid TylerSome admin on eliteprospects really doesnt like him or something? Shows his career stats as 4 games in 07-08 memorial cup 0+0 only. Well damn i thought he also played in the NHL but guess not.
Why should people tiptoe around a players current suckage because he had a good career? He had a great run for an undersized, undrafted player.
Why do some posters insist on shitting on a guy as his skills fade and his career finishes?
He is literally on waivers right now? If someone wants him they can claim himWhy not do it after he clears waivers then? Let him see if someone wants him

Not until he clears waiversActually he is a UFA and free to choose any option he wants.
Lost his legs, and his defensive game went with it. Happens to some guys much earlier, others like Cullen much later. Most guys don't age like Cullen.Seems like a guy that should have stuck as a 4th line C. Strong defensive game, veteran presence, limited minutes. Matt Cullen style. Oh well.
