Just wondering what others big bold predictions could be for next season.

Could even include the off-season if you forsee a big game changing trade.

My bold prediction for next season is all about Tavares and how he is going to elevate himself again next season.

With his change in stick his goal scoring prowess made a massive rebound, the fire in his belly from missing the post season and wanting to make Team Canada all shall come together for him to have a glorious season.

Not only goals, but great defensive play, i see him and Mitch making Team Canada next year.

Some may be worried about the workload of Campbell but i see him taking the reigns and running with them this season, his first starting as starter.

Brooks makes the team and establishes himself as an everyday leaf.

I'll skip the griping about management that I can do in other threads and stick to positive predictions:

1. Campbell actually does handle being an NHL starter and leaves little doubt that he is an NHL starter.
2. Sandin gets to play every night and matures rapidly into a full-fledged NHL defender with possible 1st pairing upside.
3. Mikheyev remembers how to score and pushes towards a 20 goal season with increased ice time.

As things stand today, will finish 4th in the Atlantic and out of the playoffs. Too many good teams in the Metro for a WC.

Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest will all be fired once and for all and we can move on from this comical management group.
This is expected result .. but it could even be 5th place as Sens/Habs will provide a bigger push .. best case is they get 2nd wildcard spot .. zero chance we compete with Florida, Tampa or Boston for a division spot

Pitt, Wash, NYI, and Canes should be the top 4 teams in the Metro so Leafs would be battling Gallant and the Rangers, Philly, and Habs for WC#2. Sens could surprise which won't be good news for Shanny and co.

My how the mighty have fallen. It will be a painful season but if it ends with Shanny and co. being fired, the pain will be a little more tolerable and we start again.

We will make the playoffs and lose in 7 games in the first round.

Sound familiar?

I was a fan of all 3 when hired. But Dubas would rather build a soft 3rd line consisting of players like Mikeyhev, Kerfoot & Engvall than copy Tampa and bring in players with jam and I think Keefe is a terrible coach. Let’s get this season over with and clean house

I do see a significant signing/trade this off-season.

Dubas can't keep just shuffling the bottom 6 each year with rentals hoping for a different result. I do believe he sees that and will take steps to get some longer-term fixes to support the stars.

With Freddie likely off the books, possibly Hyman walking into a $5.5M+ payday somewhere, that's some freed up cap space but it may not quite be enough. That means Dubas may have to do something else (Reilly? Kerfoot?) even if it means not touching the Big 4 up front.

I believe in the first one, i would LOVE to see the 3rd one lmao.

why do people think the Habs will finish ahead of the Leafs next year? They finished 18 points behind them this year and Habs had 11 OT loser points. Yeah they beat them in a seven game series but over the long NHL season they wouldn't have made the playoffs in the old division.

Habs wouldn't be a concern at all really

Pretty much how I see it going, but the regualar season meaning nothing I can see the team giving Leaf Nation hope only to choke in the first round. And for those who think this is a killjoy attitude, I say it’s reality as things stand. Hopefully there will be assets left for whoever takes over to work with......

Many echoed the same sentiment last off season after they took out the Pens. Unfortunately the ones who said the Habs would be a threat this year were closer to reality. Doubt they get there but they are 3 games from the Stanley Cup final with home ice advantage and Carey Price in goal while Shanny and Co. are watching the US Open.
