Would either team consider this swap?

St Louis gets a player they can either keep to replace Buch or a UFA-to-be thats likely easier to trade tomorrow than any other Buch trade will for them.

Vancouver gets a player signed to the deal Boeser is likely asking for anyways but changes the core. Even with Brock outhitting Buch I still feel he'd bring a bunch of things that Boeser is not to the Canucks lineup. If the intention is to push for the playoffs Buch makes more sense than the picks and prospects a deadline UFA Boeser deal likely returns.

And if both teams would consider this, is there a Pius Suter ufa-to-be for Schenn swap also to be had, albeit now Vancouver adds a big sweetener with the same premise for St Louis. Keep the UFA if he fits or its easier to deal Suter than Schenn and you make up the value on the VAN ++ side.

Boeser, Suter, 1st, 2nd
For

That’s a monster trade, can’t see Vancouver trading its first with the way the season has gone. Maybe at the end of the year, once they know the draft slot.

Schenn and Buchnevich both have full NTC’s. Not a realistic proposal to start with IMO, but it would have to be a hell of a lot more value going to St. Louis for the Blues to consider moving Buchnevich and Schenn like this.

Hey Buch want to stay here with the rumors of us shopping you before this new deal even kicks in or do you wanna goto Vancouver where they're in a playoff spot today and you'd be by far their best winger...

Same applies to Schenn.

The NTC aint a worry its the pricetags. Vancouver is beautiful and both would be our best forwards lol

Schenn also spends his summers in BC and trains with a few of the Canucks.

Lol I really doubt either is worried about trade rumors. And again, I would cite their full NTC’s.

Schenn also just gave an interview the other day where he re-iterated how much he loves St. Louis and basically said he doesn’t worry about trade rumors.

That said, I could see Schenn possibly being traded if someone meets a really high price set by Armstrong and Schenn is comfortable with the destination. Both him and Buchnevich in the same deal is not realistic IMO.

I guess we can just flip them, but I don't see a deal like this happening.

Yeah purely hypothetically as in these two are easier to flip as UFAs if you dont want to keep plus you start with the guaranteed Vancouver ++

Schenn also spends his summers in BC and trains with a few of the Canucks.

He's obviously like 5-10 years older than we'd prefer to be targetting and signed for probably too much but our center position is dreadful, he wins faceoffs and he's an immediate upgrade on Pius today.

Find a way to include Willander and I'll consider it

And that's where we have to draw line line. Draft your own Logan Hensler with our pick. I dont care but your not gonna age gap Vancouver out of the best and only RHD we've ever drafted HA.

And IMO even if you package Buch and Schenn to any of the 31 teams you aint getting a Willander back. They are not Kyrou or Thomas we're asking for.

I dont profess to know what STL wants or needs I just seen a real easy path to having 14,500,000 entirely gone tomorrow and a bevy of picks and prospects in STL future if thats the route they are taking fielding offers for either.

Boeser, Suter, 1st, 2nd

Boeser for 1st and 2nd at deadline

Suter for 2nd and 3rd at deadline

Blues end up with 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd or equivilant prospects and 14.5m capspace.

Canucks wash their hands of Boeser while retaining a top 6 winger and get a big center upgrade.

Armstrong expected the roster to compete for a playoff spot this year (right or wrong). It's been reported if Schenn is traded Army is looking for a "mammoth" return. I'm guessing Schenn does get traded. I doubt Army wants all picks in return. He will either want young NHL talent or a highly touted prospect on the verge of making the NHL. He's not looking to rebuild.

Yeah, I think Vancouver are better continuing to look around for other deals. Buch doesn't move the needle for me, and that's a lot of other assets for Schenn.

I'd do that pretty readily from a Vancouver perspective. Which means it's probably not all that enticing to St.Louis. But if it was something they'd do, i'd be into that kind of swap. Would address two problems for Canucks with one shot.

Yeah id upgrade my offer for Brayden Schenn to the Ryan Kesler "mammoth" package if you needed.

Pius Suter (nick bonino)
Van 2nd (luca sbisa)
Van 1st (jared mccann)

I agree to mammoth this deal and throw in the swap of 3rds so a not rebuilding team can go get that Derek Dorsett they need.

Are we closer?
