People are putting too much into this Edmonton business. You break up the core by breaking up the core and plenty of teams are in on Lucic.

Right now, 2 division rivals are eying him, Edmonton and Vancouver. Worth it to meet with him and try to drive up the price.

Also, signing him could allow Dallas to move a forward for G or D help.

Dallas isn't in the same division as either team.

How funny would it be if Edmonton just shipped out Hall, and Lucic decides to sign elsewhere?

The Hall trade was not dependent on Lucic signing. If it were, we would just wait. Lucic's situation doesn't change our need for Larsson.

Maroon was good on top six left wing. We've got Pouliot as well, and Drai or RNH can be on the wing. SJ had success with extra centers on the wing.

Dallas has plenty of forwards that fit their system who are ready to be promoted. We don't need a big $$$ outside UFA in order to move a forward for G or D help.

I agree that there's no harm in talking to the guy, but he just doesn't seem like the kind of guy that Nill would want to devote any substantial cap space towards.

My guess is it's down to Vancouver and Edmonton due to where he was born.
