I don't get the Walman hate. What don't people like about him?

He’s a good example of what some fans don’t want in a offensive defenseman. Also the Blues have lots of smallish dmen, which could make him redundant. Faulk, Krug, etc.

He's below average defensively and he can barely produce at a NHL level offensively.

I think he looks fine defensively. He and Bortuzzo have been the Blues best pairing in terms of xGA rate. I agree he doesn't provide much creativity offensively. To me he's just a solid defenseman that has one plus skill, his skating.

Walman is actually pretty good 1 on 1 defensively. It's when he has to think that he struggles.
