The shots problem has been here for a bit. Many games we were winning with like around 20 shots but scoring on the high danger chances.

We need to get the puck on net more. You cant score if you dont shoot!

Not able to watch, but it appears the Caps are in a bit of a bad funk after scoring 15 goals on the Pens/Oilers. Don't like losing to teams lower in the standings, but it does help us stay away from that cursed President's Trophy! With the Bolts next after this one, we might see the teams first 3 games in regulation losing streak. Might be a good thing to eat some humble pie and get this streak out of the way, since I think we are the only team that hasn't gone through it yet.

After blowing their loads the first two games back the offense has heavily regressed.

Maybe the players got too much in their head to score goals after the 8-3 and 7-3 wins? The goals will come(for OV too but don't be force feeding him), but time to get back to basics playing strong defense and good goaltending. Honestly, the 4 games played after this break they haven't been doing that.

I'm not worried about shots. Getting back to better puck possession and zone time, will lead to more shots. Defense and goaltending more important to clean up.

With Sonny Milano healthy again, I wonder if someone gets scratched/benched in the next game against the Bolts? Maybe put Vrana in the lineup since he has that scoring knack against the Bolts?

From the highlights, 3 of the 4 goals Lindgren did not look sharp enough. I will say team defense was poor tonight as well, with wide open looks on the first 2 Blues goals. The other two of note was not taking away a stick redirect of the puck(Lindgren's tracking on that seemed off) and the other Lindgren didn't control his good save rebound with Caps players standing around, with a Blue putting a loose puck into an open area of the net.

To be fair... a 5 game home stand after a 2 week break Is a long time at home mid season.

One road game in Pitt as the 1st game back from the 4N (and it barley counts) since the Superbowl. Thats a long time at home. I think the road may help us
