It’s so hard to get a long term gauge on an 18 year old. It’s hard to argue with his size and skill level.
For big guy with skill, he isn't as productive as you'd like. And he isn't playing center. I see the tools, but I question whether he has the toolbox.
I think the pace will be to great for him to overcome. I don’t think he will produce at the nhl level. His tools will level out. Sawcyn will play nhl games.
Go watch his shoot out goal from last night…yikes! Totally not fair. I think it helped out, because the goalie was still looking for his shorts.

This is how I see Jecho too. The size and shot are obvious pluses but I see below average hockey sense. But maybe he has enough else going on to where he can be a bottom-6 energy guy. Idk. His transition to pro hockey in 2026-27 should be really telling.

Torpo plays with pace. He’s got jam. I question whether Jecho can do that.

Not implying they play the same style, but just as a 4th liner with a bit more scoring upside where they kind of rely on the tools that they have.
Jecho meanders a lot. Not much purpose without the puck

Agreed. Their strengths and weaknesses are almost exact opposites. However, I do see what bleedblue is saying as I could see Jecho being a similar caliber of player. Someone you stock in the 4th line, give him simple directions and see if he can at least break even while the actually good players take a breather.

Yeah, I'll defer to the people that watch him, he's not someone that's on my list when I have the time to look at prospects. He's basically on the tier of, it would be great if they make it as a 4th liner, but I don't really expect many NHL games. I kind of throw a bunch of 4-7th round picks in a bucket and just hope 1 or 2 surprise and play a good amount for us.

I’ve only watched him a bit but he’s slowed down recently. His team is getting absolutely caved now that they traded Cristall. His WHL season ends in 13 days though so hopefully the plan is for him to join the T-birds after that.
But overall, his play is good. Solid two-way player. You know who’d likely have a much better answer though? P9s. I can only assume he got banned as he disappeared one day. I know he can be prickly at times but can we please un-ban him? He lives in the WHL region, clearly watches the games and was a great source of prospect info.
