Dvorsky has already played in the WJC 3 times. 4 technically if you count the covid one that was canceled a few games in. So I could see it being seen as something he’d beyond. But if I was the one deciding, I’d simply ask him. If he wants to go then I’d let him go. If he was indifferent, then he’d stay with the T-birds.

Selfishly, personally, I hope he goes. He’d make the tourney more entertaining and help Slovakia.

Locks:
Dvorsky (if he wants/is allowed to go)
Lindstein
Stenberg (my guess is he’s named Captain)
Pekarcik
Stancl
Jiricek (if healthy)

Near Lock:
Jecho

Likely:
Kos

Unlikely but Above Zero Chance:
Burns
Fischer
Ralph

Satan rises again?!?

You can't keep him down.

I see both sides of the argument, but I want DVo playing pro as much as possible. I agree with Morty that if DVo is strongly signalling that he'd like to play in the WJCs, then let him. So, that's the "however".

I would agree with that. I get the risk of injury argument but it's also possible that it could create bitterness with our top prospect by not letting him play. If means a lot to these guys to play for their country and maybe even more so when you come from a small country like Slovakia.

Next year. I think he is still out.

Our former Fischer will be on the team. Hopefully Ralph, 3 pts in 13 games, will make the team. Any idea of how he is playing?
If you are stat watching, then you will be disappointed. St. Cloud plays a very tight D structured game. He is their leading scorer on D. They have Austin Burnevik and well…that’s their offense…

I hope he gets invited to camp. That would be positive, even if he doesn’t make the team.

Have you caught any St Cloud games? I’ve seen some highlights but that’s about it. Very intrigued by Ralph as a prospect…

Will be interesting to see is he does. From the highlights I saw it looked like he showed decently at the WJSS, but who knows.

From another angle, I want Dvo and Pekarcik together when the opportunity presents itself. They know each other at least a little bit as they've played together for Slovakia in juniors tournaments.

Stancl was 1+3 last night. Per prospects thread on main board, in his last 9 games playing with Cristall, he has 6G 11A 17pts, nearly 2.0 ppg
I promise you, it's Cristall driving this. But Stancl is good and he sets up in front on the PP. Good hands in tight for a tall guy. Cristall with a 5 on 4 advantage is simply not stoppable right now

WOW TEN TIMES before the WJC??? But but but but but I never talked about him before the WJC ...

Yeah, I think Stancl has 3rd line upside and could be a Neighbors type player on the PP in the future.

Cristall pacing for 178 points this season. unreal

So what’s the deal with Colten Ellis?

His AHL numbers are pretty good. Does he have any #1 upside in NHL?

I'm not going to rule it out. I just don't know that it happens here.
He's on roughly the same trajectory as Binnington was and we know how long it took Binny to get a shot.
Eliis has always had the raw skills. It took him a while to figure the mental part of the game out but it seems like something has finally clicked with him. I can pretty easily see him in a backup or 1B role in the very near future, possibly even a 1A role. I'm just not sure if he's got "undisputed #1 NHL goalie" in him.
But with Binny, Hofer and Zherenko(even with his current issues) in the organization, I think Ellis is going to have a very hard time moving himself up the depth chart. Granted, Binny is the only goalie signed beyond the current year; but I wouldn't be surprised if we dangle a goalie as a sweetener at the deadline and Ellis seems like the prime candidate.

Side note; we desperately need to Draft a goalie this summer.
