Guy in the Bolduc thread who is an avid QMJHL follower said Bolduc is perhaps the purest Q goal scorer of the past 10 years. Just one person’s opinion, but that doesn’t sound like low ceiling to me.

Where are people getting that Bolduc is low ceiling, high floor? Like people are really complaining that we passed on Svechkov and then complaining about Bolduc as low ceiling? Makes no sense.

It’s really the most reliable source we have unless we are able to take the time to form our own opinions which most people don’t have the time to do.

I just want to say that I don't hate the Bolduc pick. I think he will be a solid asset for the Blues. My frustration comes from the fact that upon my own research this year I felt like there were several superior picks available. I still think whoever takes Lambos will get the steal of the draft. Lambos is a top 10 pick that fell due to injury.

Pronman is good, but he does write-ups on like 200 players. I’d rather take the opinion of someone who has extensively watched a smaller set of players.

Pronman isn’t reliable at all. He’s one opinion paid to make noise, and he’s a hack as far as scouts are concerned.

Bolduc is a great pick. He took some time to get going at the beginning of the season but when he did he was dominant. Rimouski didn't have much talent left this season to support him. He was considered a top 10 prospect when the season started.

I never understand why it’s popular to just crap on Pronman. He has his biases, much like Button, much like Saxon, and much like everyone else. Be aware of his biases and read his write ups to understand what he sees. Much like how one should read all write ups. It’s just silly to crap on one and act like the others don’t have the same issue.

I can understand being upset with the pick if you wanted a different player or a different direction. Bolduc is definitely off most people's boards at that point, which is why I was confused by it being the "safe" pick. I wanted a goal scorer so I wasn't cheering for Lambos. But now that we got one, I'd love to trade for a pick to grab him. I don't know about top 10 OA level, but he is will be a solid all around top 4 D which would be tremendous value for whoever grabs him..

I think its more that Covid made scouting difficult so there is no real consensus ranking. Even the experts disagree. Aside from Ottawa, I don't think there were many reaches that weren't a good pick on some "experts" board.
