This is probably how it feels to be a Carolina Hurricanes fan. Dominate the shot chart with mostly low grade chances, “deserve to win”, while other team capitalizes on a few great opportunities

Nice goal Jack Drury right in the dirty area great shot. How is Olaf coming along?

With Mika being a late out and the bottom of the roster already being a shitshow, this seems like the kind of game where they really could have tried some different looks without any fear if things didn't work out.
Instead we basically got the same lines and pairs, and while it was nice to see Cuylle with Kreider, the fact it was Brodz centering them basically wasted the opportunity

This team sucks defensively right now. Hanging the loss on Shesterkin is just a lazy take when the team can’t be bothered to get a stick in a passing lane. We have been on the other side of this game many times this year, and we would dismiss the poor analytics by saying it was score effects. After getting an early lead, we would have no reason to press and they would have every reason to throw everything at the net. Now we’re on the other side and we want to hang it on goaltending.

Igor has been a sieve but is also getting hung out to dry by his D-men (and backcheckers). Both are true

They've been doing it all season, actually. When they lose a game, they can make it look like a massacre.

What's the record so far: 9 games with allowing 6 goals?
I'm talking about losing 4 out of 5 and 3 in a row. Every single top team has a slump. I'm not going to jump off a bridge. They actually outplayed St. Louis while they were missing 3 top 6 guys. They need to get healthy and get better goaltending in tough spots. 3 straight games the other goalie was better.

The Rangers have lost 12 regulation games. 8 of them by three or more goals. Part of that is an insane amount of empty net goals they allow but this season has been frustrating to say the least.

They've been playing like shit for weeks.

1st one was bad. Yup. That's just one.
Second one was tic-tac-toe.
Third one was because the puck went to a wide open man on their team and we got in a mad scramble. They scored the same way Trocheck scored.
Forth was a break away and Igor was 1/2 on that.

We had plenty of time to come back and capitalize when down 2-1 and just looked unenthused about the whole offensive affair.

I don’t even think the first goal was bad. It was a pass across the royal road to a goal scorer who made a good shot. Trocheck looked like he could have gotten a stick on that pass or blocked that shot if he was as good defensively as we think he is.
