Lot of drama over nothing. Yeah Laine is cocky and immature. at 26 most kids are idiots. Maybe he has tourettes. Next!
He can be a 200 foot player, I've seen him do it in Columbus. But as stated, he lacks professionalism and maturity. Probably given too much to soon in life.Laine is a talented player - brilliant at times - but he strikes me as a weird, off-putting character.

So you said it, he missed nearly half the games, yet you point him out has if he was a big part of the problems, did I miss something and the cbj have been fantastic this year? I always liked werenski for his talent, and he answered back like a true captain, dont actually know if he is or just A, doesn't matter, but in reality he gives me scrub vibes
Didn't Waddell say the same thing a few months ago?Just classless

The Jackets didn't do Waddell a couple of big favors like they did for Laine. Instead of "thank you for the support in my time of need and thank you for getting a trade done when I asked for it" he said that.Didn't Waddell say the same thing a few months ago?
Might be tough to hear but not necessarily untrue
People are crying waaaaaaay too much over this.
"He said he's tired of it, but management was changed out."
Management was changed out a few times in Buffalo and that losing culture still exists.
"He's saying this while running away instead of staying, like Zach and Boone"
Yes, because no one has left a shitty environment for themselves and then called it out.
Laine scored a hat trick and then told the reporter it wasn't a good game. The guy speaks the truth and instead of going "yeah, it was a great place to play and I really enjoyed my time" he says how he experienced there.
"Maybe he can be more than a PP specialists"
He actually calls out his lack of 5 on 5 production quite often so far.
So, we have a thread full of insulted fans which is at least fair for Columbus fans and then a bunch of people who have no idea what they're talking about throwing out things that aren't points.
Everyone wants NHLers to be more personal and be less robotic and then cry everytime they are. So, which do you want ?

Again, it's a fine line between honesty and being an asshole. But once you cross it, it's pretty obvious to everyone. Of course, he could be the type that says thing to impress others (reporter in this case) or without thinking. Which doesn't really help his case as a well developed human being.People are crying waaaaaaay too much over this.

Do your coworkers call you AWOL when you take sick leave, what a dumb take.I don't think or at least I hope there aren't any of us CBJ fans that aren't oblivious to the fact there have been compete or motivation issues over the last couple of years. The team has stunk again, but I think the bigger issue is he goes out of his way to talk this shit when he himself was a likely a big part of that cultural issue. He's a giant hypocrite and had no reason to come out and try to bash his former teammates who were very supportive of him while he went AWOL.

This could be true, and he was well known prick in youth hockey. He also has weird status in Finland, only Selänne has had that similar aura.He can be a 200 foot player, I've seen him do it in Columbus. But as stated, he lacks professionalism and maturity. Probably given too much to soon in life.
They're just pointing out, rightfully, that it doesn't make what he said true.
Also, for all the Habs fans jumping through hoops with the whole 'Everybody wants players to be genuine, but then they complain when they are!' — I don't think anybody in this thread is saying that Laine *shouldn't* speak from the heart.
They're just pointing out, rightfully, that it doesn't make what he said true. Nor does it absolve him of any criticism when what he said was absolutely goofy.
Your boy came out, talked down about his former team, and then got injured after one period in a subsequent loss to said team. You couldn't write a better script than that.
You really don't see a difference between the the guy coming into Columbus saying that the culture is bad and vowing to make it better, and the guy who jumped ship saying that the culture was bad, but that *he* wasn't a part of it?Well if that's true, then Don Waddell is also wrong and needs the same scrutiny.
And yet, you still haven't won since they've even been a thought. Keep hanging onto ancient history. Montreal has been the most Charmin soft team in the league for years now. You’ve won two playoff rounds. Hang a banner. Everyone literally forgets you exist. You don’t even have rivals.
LmaooooooooBeing known as the NHL player addicted to fortnite will always be Laine no matter how many other clubs or people he trys to throw under the battle bus.

There are guys like Barkov, Rantanen or Aho but main stream media is all about Laine. Personally i don't mind if he talks crap but then he also needs to perform.
