Only explanation I can think of is that He probably said it to stop the stupid highlight video which he most certainly didn’t deserve and may have been booed due to his poor performance during his time in Columbus. Awkward situation all the way round.

What’s next, Messier appreciation night in Vancouver?

Honestly is Patrik like on the spectrum or something? Or is he just a quiet Finn that might have way of talking after the fact that is off-putting?

Seems like a trend with him ending up not liked with team leadership. We’ll see what happens with Montreal if the team isn’t good enough to win.
they aren't

Yeah he seems to definitely lack social skills. It's a shame because it does seem to be affecting his career and he's absolutely got the hockey chops to be a star if he stays healthy and finds a team he fits with.

It’s just rich to hear him say this since he was rarely ever on the ice for the CBJ

I love posts like this. Since Werenski got drafted there's also only two Canadians left, one being total plug Gallagher.

Then you say nobody wants to stay, but you just previously referenced two guys that have signed with the team long term. Let's not even get into guys like Johnny or the young guys that just signed 3 year deals this off-season.

You can think Laine is onto something. You're probably also the type that constantly runs into problems but it's always someone else's fault lol.
Personal attack unnecessary holy smokes

He's not completely wrong about Columbus during those years. Problem is that he seemed to be a ringleader of what he is describing, when healthy enough to even play.

Hockey players get criticized for being too "corporate" and vanilla off the ice. Then when one says what's on his mind he gets skewered. Whatever.
Yeah, we need more pro athletes ripping their former teams right before they play them.

I guess he's trying to distance himself from the failures of the team while he was there.

Bit of a dick move after how well the Jackets seemed to support Laine through his mental health issues.
