Did Alexander play corner in preseason? I know he played CB his first few years in Saskatchewan, but I thought he was strictly a safety now.

He was banged up most of camp. He was supposed to be out there according to Bauming in TC (he said on twitter prior to game 1 Bucknor was starting at field side corner in place of Alexander). Bombers D rotates a lot but Alexander doesn't seem to be in very much on defense right now (former backup safety Teague Sherman is starting strong side LB btw).

Does give the jersey a bit of a tug. Could make the argument the pull negated his ability to get to the ball which was thrown away.

Probably stands though.

Ugh. Don't like this challenge, they're not going to reverse the call. It was just hand fighting.

That tug on Denmark's left shoulder is what the BB saw. It's a very iffy PI call, they won't overturn.

EDIT: As TSN guys are saying this sets a precedent.

EDIT2: Oh man, PI is about to get way more strict.

That's an iffy call imo. Probably could have let it slide.

Get ready for totally inconsistent calling of PI, as if CFL refs couldn't be any worse.

You know what's awesome. Having a coach throw challenges and win. I'm not sure Tim Burke ever did.

The announcers make a good point, you're going to see a tonne of challenge flags if the refs are going to overturn stuff like that.

Challenges are still limited to same number as before though.

Although I agree that sets a really strict precedent.

Did Tim Burke ever challenge anything?

I don't recall. Probably because i'm like 90% sure i was drunk for a good part of last season.

Burke was the worst. He was a) conservative about challenging and b) challenged the dumbest things.

I'll never forget when he challenged a Fantuz catch in Hamilton where he had both feet inbounds (ie. would've been a completion in the NFL). :shakehead

Burke was conservative period. Conservative playcalling, conservative demeanor, conservative interviews. Thankfully it appears they found an at least semi competent coach.

Yeah go Trestman. I mean I hate the Alouettes with my whole being but Bears are now one of my top 3 favourite teams in NFL  I think it shows my bias when like all my favourite NFL players are either ex-CFLers (Cam Wake, Chris Matthews, hell even that dirtbag Brandon Browner), Canadian (Cory Greenwood, Chris Bilukidi, Orlando Franklin), or a Winnipeg Jets fan (JJ Watt).

Paris Cotton is looking good. Hoping they find a way to work him into offence, him and Grigsby might be a great RB combo. Bye Will Ford, never been a fan.
