Why do some people continue to support the Blue Bombers?? Seriously: WHY?!

I genuinely want to know because I don't get it. They're the worlds worst-run sports team.

There's a difference between being a "die-hard fan" and being a SUCKER.

You know what, you are completely right. Let's stop supporting the Bombers so they replace the President. Oh wait. Ok how about the GM. Oh. Head Coach? Hmm...I know let's just get rid of all 42 players and start from scratch, cause that worked so well for expansion Ottawa Renegades. Wait a minute.

Well one thing is sure, our owners suck. Because it's community owned. Oh. Well the Board of Governors sure does make decisions on players and coaches they are clearly screwing us! Wait no.

You can't be telling me that the BoG did everything they could to revamp the team and it's sports where teams can build and get better?

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, and hopefully it's closed and locked when you try to come back when we have a winning team.

I'm not gonna defend myself against someone who takes a drive-by potshot and calls me a sucker for supporting a football team. Like, I get it. Your money and time is very valuable, you're very important. I like football, so I'm gonna watch football. Have fun feeling superior to us "suckers".

Chris if you're a Blue Bomber fan is that really the best rebuttal you have?

..really?

It's a perfectly good reason. Some people just like to watch football. Just like some people just like to watch hockey. I'd get season tickets if I didn't live in Brandon because I enjoy watching football. Sure it would be a lot better if the product on the field was better. But you can still enjoy the season.

Just my 2 cents

4. How many "rebuilding years" have the Blue had since their last Grey Cup win? That's all the franchise does is rebuild, rebuild, rebuild - and it goes nowhere. The Blue Bombers are like the NY Islanders of the CFL.

You are entitled to your opinions, but this one is patently false. Since the last Cup win in 1990 the Bombers have appeared in the Grey Cup game in 1992, 1993, 2004, 2007 and most recently in 2011. Not exactly hallmarks of a team that's done nothing but rebuild, rebuild, rebuild. And had Kevin Glenn not broken his arm in the East Final, the Bombers probably would've won the 2007 game walking away.

I know Wade Miller personally as a business contact; I'm very confident that the team will do a complete turnaround within the next two seasons under his command. You'll be welcome aboard the bandwagon when you decide to rejoin. Although I must point out that supporting a team that's on top always feels a little sweeter when you've been onboard through the lean times.

Because a true fan doesn't give up on their team, no matter the circumstances.
I get extremely frustrated with the Bombers, but they are Winnipeg's team.
In the CFL, it is anyone's game. Even with a below .500 record you still have a chance at winning the Grey Cup.
And by your logic, the Cubs should have no fans at all.

You kidding me, I've been cheering for nothing but crappy teams the last ten years, but why would I jump off the bandwagon for any of them? Raptors, Blue Jays, Cheifs, Bombers have all sucked for a while but I still enjoy watching all those teams play. Bailing on teams Im passionate about is never gonna happen, jumping ship is the easy way out!

Hey, winning the last of your championships 24 years ago is still reason to brag and taunt and pound your chest. Just ask Edmonton Oiler fans!

I hate that the Bombers are discussed at all as a main thread on a hockey forum.

To comment in the future, I propose a cap floor of $525,000, the league minimum in todays' NHL. Feel free to discuss any player who meets this minimum standard.

This should prevent all future CFL banter here.

Yeah really, just don't read it then and ignore. There are many Jets and Bombers fans on here and the CFL threads have been going on as long as I can remember.

Anyhow, I am in favour of the Bombers pursuing Collaros. I am probably in a minority here but I also like Max Hall and would mind Hall being a backup to Collaros.

Almost every other team forum has a thread dedicated to their hometown non-hockey teams. Hope that clears things up.

The difference with the US based NHL franchises is the talk of their hometown teams is with regards to a first rate league.

Sorry but 3 down football, field goal posts that act as obstacles, the "rouge",20 yard end zones, 110 yard fields, the 8 team (or less) league, the ball & of course the level of play doesn't do it for me. I could say much worse & I do, often loudly, in private conversations.

I do however like the fact our community can rally around a team. The Bombers do a great deal to create a sense of community, I'd just rather see the Bisons, Wesmen or Goldeyes supported. There's a growing populace that can't stand the CFL. I'll point to most teams attendance records being 30-40 years old.

Coming into a CFL thread and bashing the CFL. At first I respected your opinion but now I could care a less. Take your crap elsewhere, some of us actually like the Bombers and the CFL.

I am hoping for a good Bomber year and that some of the changes start to play out. Early indications point to moving in the right direction, but we will see once cleats hit the field.

Eskimos, Lions, Argos, Stampeders and Alouettes all have dedicated threads on their respective boards.

As for your last comment, I can tell you don't follow the CFL much or at all. The league has never had better financial health, in large part due to their deal with TSN.

Thanks for dropping by, feel free to come back if you have any interest in discussing the Bombers. :)

AAAaaannyways,

I'm assuming that Collaros got released to go after his NFL dream. If it was to sign with another CFL team then the argos could have got a late round draft pick out of him.

If Collaros sign in the NFL, then the Tiger-cats sign Burris. We sign Willy or visa-versa.

I like what you wrote, its a good slap in the face to people who put down this organization. What really upsets me about fans like this is the outrage they have for a team that went 3-15 yet probably weren't even born when the Winnipeg Jets in 1980 went 9-57-14. That would be similar to 2-15-1 in a CFL season. Attitudes of abandoning any Winnipeg sports organization brings back memories of Winnipeg Jets 1.0. A team that went through its lows of 1980 and its highs of 1992 when Selanne was ruling the NHL. One thing never changed through 1.0 was the fact the fans were fickle and we still couldnt even sell out the Winnipeg Arena game in and game out. It was about $40 for a seat today that would be $200, you could sit in the balcony for $10 where now its $40. People like to make knee jerk comments about not supporting the Blue Bombers yet, if the team goes bankrupt who do these people think will be footed with the bill to pay for this stadium that lost its #1 tenant?
