Expansion draft was concluded today.

Bombers lost IMP SB Wallace Miles, NIP DB James Green and NIP SB Rory Kohlert.

Green was a decent enough special teamer. Kohlert was a decent enough depth option as a non-import receiver, but was a pending UFA. Don't really remember anything about Miles. As expected, we lost nothing really.

RedBlacks get both Glenn and DeMarco. They now have a QB situation light years better than the Bombers. And they have yet to play a game. Sigh.

Haha, are you kidding me? What a joke this team is, I thought Walters was better than that. I'll give him the benefit out of the doubt and assume he has something up his sleeve. What I'm worried about is it's going to be another case of a 'friend' of one of the coaches, some QB that is brutal and gets the number one job because he's a 'friend'. Just like that QB we brought over from Hamilton, I can't remember his name and don't want to.

I wouldn't say Kevin Glenn is all that good of a QB, he has over achieved in Hamilton. I don't see him doing all that well in Ottawa, he's on the down slope of his career.

Now if we were talking about Anthony Calvillo then I would agree with you.

Still, can't wait for free agency to open up, just hope our new brass are finally going to do something instead of sitting back quietly.

Glenn's been a top end QB on 3 different teams (WPG, HAM, CGY). His two best seasons were not on Hamilton (WPG in 07, CGY in 12).

Glenn is a really solid CFL QB, even if on the downswing. OTT also managed to get a really solid up and comer in DeMarco, who showed better than anything we had. That's 2 QB's well beyond the level we have.

Renewal deadline was extended until sometime in mid-February I believe. Might hear some leaks in the media after that as to how many chose to renew.

Yeah I didn't do anything with my tickets so I thought I had lost them. Just received a call last week. I had 63 dollars credit which I moved into as a deposit and plan to move my tickets and drop from 2 to 1 ticket.

^ We got Burris? Not bad, positive looking.

A dozen colleagues of mine and my parents each have 2 or 4 seats. Not a single one of them are renewing their seats. Maybe in a few years when the team shows some life again.

No we don't have Burris. There are 2 teams (Bombers and Ticats) after those 3 QBs, so the Bombers will end up with at least one of them.

I was at the Bomber store a few weeks ago and the girl working at the season ticket desk told me that season ticket sales are higher this year compared to the same time last year. It seems lots of Bombers season ticket holders are publicly saying they aren't renewing, but in reality they are.

Bolded, unless the girl is ************ you giving the standard representative response...

Remember apparently season ticket sales were almost double in Phoenix for the Coyotes, but there still appears to be minimal attendance. What people say and the reality are two completely different things.

Why do some people continue to support the Blue Bombers?? Seriously: WHY?!

I genuinely want to know because I don't get it. They're the worlds worst-run sports team.

There's a difference between being a "die-hard fan" and being a SUCKER.

Some people like to watch football live? It's a game.

Because it appears that they have taken steps to at least try to improve the organization starting at the top. Buchko out, Miller in. Mack out, Walters in. Burke out, O'Shea in. New assistant coaches for the most part.

There are still concerns with the Bomber BOD and the lack of experience present in the coaching staff. Also concerns with the two biggest weaknesses on the field - the O-line and starting QB, but we won't have any idea how that will be addressed until free agency begins in February.

I think the most fans are willing to give this new group of coaches and management a chance, but I'm sure there will be some drop-off in the season ticket base from last season. Just too many bad seasons recently for it not to affect that. But if the Bombers can remain competitive in most of their games and at stay in the playoff race towards the end of the season (say 6 or 7 wins) then walk-up crowds should remain respectable.

1. We have the same exact ownership group as last year
2. The same people who fired Mack & Buchko are the same people who hired him.
3. The Bombers ownership know that no matter how bad they do, year after year after year, people like you will happily buy tickets with a smile on your face.
4. How many "rebuilding years" have the Blue had since their last Grey Cup win? That's all the franchise does is rebuild, rebuild, rebuild - and it goes nowhere. The Blue Bombers are like the NY Islanders of the CFL.

If you want to continue supporting the Blue, that's fine. But I honest-to-God just feel sorry for you. You're going to waste a lot of time and a lot of money.
